I got a personal loan for mine (a couple of cars back though)
8k at 7.9% for 6 years,
I dont even notice it gone so it dosent bother me...

Thats been my life story too,never had a loan in my life, not even the plastic (and still don't have the plastic) until a couple of years ago for my house, but I'm thinking I might get little loans for my future mods. Few grand at a time pay it off and then another pay that off and so on. Other wise I'll be over the hill by the time I do it. A good reason for me is when you have commitment like loan repayment it makes less likely to blow money else where eg pub, fancy clothes buying shite you don't really need.
But you gotta be sencible about it and don't bite off more than you can chew.

0.0 percent over 72 months, got to love the USA and its free money for cars...nearly all the manufacturers offer 0 - 5 percent loans for cars its wonderful

Commercial Loan / Leasing is cheaper thats why most of us get around the 8s, but the rates have gone up, early 9s are good at the moment!
