In the circumstances Ford would have to be pleased, next to Toyota its probably the only major manufacturer with an increase in sales.

Honda wouldnt be happy, some of their models have dropped to virtually nothing

the media would have you believe that everyone is running off to the small car market but look at toyota's figures. they have arguably the best/most popular small car in the corolla and yet sales were down on last year and all the big thirsty 4wd's etc had a major win.

large family sedans may not be doing as well as they once were but that doesn't mean that buyers are rushing off to buy smaller cars, just different cars.

great job ford. keep it up!

Good to see Ford steady, but Territory sales seem to be a bit low. Falcon Ute sales are healthily beating Holden Ute sales, shows that having a proper ute is more profitable than having a pretty boy's ute

Looks good, all the people who think that The Fg isn't doing well need to see the raw numbers...Large cars still doing well despite so much talk of people down sizing..

so 311 people in July had more money then sense and decided to blow thier hard earned on Prius, nearly as bad as the 290 odd who blew their hard earned on a 'Holden' Epica

You can't be serious. :

Having a production down day every second Friday does not bode well.

It really annoys me how ford only manage to sell 300 mondeos a month! Its a fantastic product that sells by the bucket load in Europe. Some proper marketing is all it would take to see 1k + sales I'd imagine.

Compared to the majority of manufacturers, Ford's result (improvement) looks good.

According to Bill Osborne, the best car always outsells it's competitors. I wonder what
he will do about this. He needs to get aggressive with there portrayal of FG's
qualities to the buying public. I've seen enough fingers thanks, it's time to
sing the praises of FG me thinks where all the great stuff the press has to say
about it must be drummed into everyone's heads... it's a more powerful tactic
than people think.

I'm not sure but I think it's due to a lack of stock, which if true, means they're forecasting of sales was way off the mark.

That isn't bad, although that's nothing compared to the 1990's, it's good that Ford have sold more than they did this time last year. Ford are in NO sight of closing local production because I've seen a lot of negative drivel by idiots that believe Ford will be next to close down after Mitsubishi very soon. used: Those people who say that do not see the actual figures, they just hear about a little negativity in the media and they fill up car news blog comments with total crap! I hope no one takes that (Bleep) seriously.

It's only recent that I discovered vFacts after may and I was pleasantly surprised, Ford is still in the top three and that I think that is all right. It's time for Ford to go better.

only 300 mondeos.. thought they were going for 500 per month.

On another note, it would seem that all the 380 numbers went to camry/aurion, with commy down and only a small kick in falcon numbers.

Looks doom and gloom to me. The new FG should be slaying the equivalent BF numbers by the 2nd month. This is where you get a huge boost in sales, on the back of a new model release, then sales taper off.

Downtime in the factory, lack lustre sales, VE ahead by 1500! Doesn't look like job well done to me.

Not surprising at all. Anyone who bought/buys a 380 and Camry/Aurion were never going to buy a Falcon/Commodore. If they were then they WOULD have bought one instead of a FWD POS. Different cars that shouldn't be even in the same class. The only car in world that has any hope of being compared to a Falcon/Commodore short of a 300C would be Dodge Charger.

Hardly lack lustre sales when you consider the record July the industry had in 2007. If that's the way you look at it then VE should be slaughtering VZ sales and it's not.
It's a whole lot more complex than just comparing numbers.

Gee Nissan aren't really doing that well, If it weren't for their new Models (Dualis and Micra) I wouldn't think they would of made a positive. Maxima deserves more sales, is a better car then Aurion in my opinion, strange to see that they sold more Patrol utes than Wagons
