It still has heaps of clearance bloke. But keep in mind
if you go lower that photo is with only half a tank of fuel
and a empty boot. Full tank 2 adults 3 kids and a boot
full of crap it's a little different story.

SSL is plenty low enough, it might not look like it but when you see how close the body is to the road you'll see. I'm putting a TS50 kit on mine soon and me thinks I will have to raise it up a notch to clear the usual driveways, speed humps etc etc. I've had reset SSL previously and destroyed an exhaust and bent the floor going into a driveway.

I just got a set of super lows for my XR8 and I noticed in the king spring book the the part number for super lows on a IRS au is the same as the part number for ultra lows on a live axle

Yes fronts are the same, but the rears are a different spring design beacuse of IRS and live axle. But as the fronts are the same number I would assume the rears are the same height if you know what I mean.

So from what I gather is that ultra low on a live axle AU is equal height to super low on an IRS AU.

Where I got the springs from the fella said his mate put superlows in his stock AU and it wasn't as low as my XR8 with superlows. And then we noticed the part numbers for the ultra low front springs on the live axle AU were the same as the part numbers for superlows on an XR8. The rears were different but there a different type of spring.

Anyway there my thoughts. I may be wrong

Wrong, but only slightly, in the kings catalogue it lists au live axle, au irs, and au xr6/xr8 s/low irs. The xr listing shows ultra lows ans super lows and super lows as lows, because they were lowered from factory, the other two listings for the au share the same part numbers under fields of super low and ulta low, for the fronts.

I have SSL that measures 335mm front and back, I want to raise my car to help clear speed humps, driveways etc. when I put my bodykit on, I trial fitted the XR50 front bar and it only just cleared my driveway by a couple of mm. So Can anybody who has SL or just low springs in their AU XR measure the height between guard and centre of the wheel for me so I have a rough idea of spring heights, this will be a good guide for people who want to lower their car too.

No worries, the only reason they are shifted across a column is so when someone who owns an xr orders say lows, they receive something other then what they had from standard.

Well here's a head F***k for you, my front SL springs give a measurement of 335mm.

Cheers

the photo's of mine on aufalcon are SSL's on a series 3 XR8 with 20 inch wheels. I had the springs reset another 25 mm lower and it did scrape every where. Since the bigger wheels went on and the police told me to lift it up it now just has the SSL's and it doesnt scrape all that much. As long as your careful go SSL's AU's always look to high... Mine is going 25 mm lower again this weekend getting ready for the Kedron Ford show.
