I am backing Whincup/Lowndes Lowndes has been my favourite driver since coming into the V8's. I have a big screen, but it won't pick up free to air unless I buy a roof aerial. So unless foxtel has it on, looks like I will be in bed all day watching on the tele in the bedroom.

Just praying for a Ford win as we gave the holden guys up there SO much crap last year after they dumped on us when it looked like skaife had won the top 10 shootout then got Pwn3d the rest of the weekend....
But my money is on the master (Lowndes) and I'm convinced he'll bring it home if the car holds up.. but then there's always cap'n crunch and his fellow brothers of destruction to mess everything up. Basically all I'm saying is BRING IT ON! |

2. FPR 3. DJR That would be a good day! DJR the dark horse for me too. Good luck boys.....but Wots really going to happen is this.... HRT will be struggling to stay on the lead lap all day and then all of a suddend, the rain will fall, cars will spear off left right and centre and the days top runners will all get out of sync with the pace car. Once the confusion clears that red and white piece of poo will somehow manage to roll across the line in the lead, and I will wonder why I sat infront of the TV all day..... Last edited by OZQUAD44; 09-10-2008 at 02:05 AM. Reason: DJR not DRJ numpty |

Lead cars from FPR, T8, DJR, HRT have all got a crack because they should be therabouts come the sprint......baring mechanical issues or getting caught up in a shunt. SBR, HSV, Supercheap, Tasman, GRM etc. probably will struggle for pace so wouldn't win anyway (watch me eat my words now.....) but might be up there fighting for a podium or something....certainly top 10 possibilities. I went for FPR...yes T8 may be favourites but i don't reckon the mountain lets you win three years in a row too easilly....FPR have the pace and if no one makes a booboo like last year and there isn't too much craziness then its all good. Nice if DJR get up though..... Wildcard.....PCR Glenfords with alex davison and coulthard...... Oh and everything i just predicted won't happen now, 'caus i predicted it..... :

Frosty and Richo is my hot tip to take her out.
I wouldn't discount Ingall and Morris from the Lions den - if I were putting cash down on a Holden team to take it out, they would be right up there. |

Lowndes/Whincup, Winterbottom/Richards, Johnson/Davison in any order. It's been said before, anyone except Skaife/Tander.
I'd love to see a Falcon demolish Murphy's fastest ever lap. It may happen this year. Perhaps Whincup or Winterbottom.

I've just got a feeling that Car 18 (Johnson/Davidson) will be in the mix. Dick knows how to build cars that survive Bathurst. Sure it won't be as quick as some of the others but sometimes the winner is the last man standing!!
As long as that twat Morris doesn't spear into them and/or Junior doesn't put it into the trees (like Dad did) , the $11 for the win and $3.50 for the place that TAB Sportsbet is offering is mighty tempting!! |

One thing for sure, if Tander falls behind there will be a not needed pace car so he can catch up.

sure, last year in very nearly went but the pace of the whole field had improved. for the feat to be the same it would need to almost be in the 2.05's which is virtually impossible in these cars. the fact that the whole pitlane, ford and holden came out and stood for him shows how good that lap was. personally i think it was their brakes that did it that year. they were the only team that changed pads more than they were required to that year so i'm guessing they were running a very aggressive compound. just a theory of mine. |

Murphy's Top 10 Shootout record was set in 2003 and is 2.06.8594. Whincup's best time today was a 2.07.5975, so it is possible with the right conditions on Saturday that the record could be broken. Last year the weather was a bit cooler than normal and the tyres were not coming on until the lap was half over.

Paul Wheel and Team KIWI are both out, what a huge prang, amazing how Paul wheel got away without being seriously injured let alone killed.
