Yeah I am of the opinion that as the world economy recovers and energy demand resumes (india and China will come on line again) we will be back well beyond $1.50 a litre. Look at OPEC even dropping production to artificially decrease supply and increased demand. This drop is a welcome, but temporary relief for motorists.
As an LPG fan I note that LPG prices have not dropped..........

Spare a thought for us oil burner drivers. It's always 20 cents per litre higher than unleaded.............

$1.29 around here at moment, certainly been some relief, not enough but some.

$1.29.9 at shell this morning for 91
$1.43.5 for vpower 98 (no not 100)

what the HELL!? Is this a subsidy to try and trick us into thinking fuel is cheaper these days? I've never put 91 into the ute because it runs like crap.

Their releasing a new model, so that makes sense now. New models nearly always increase demand. Lower oil prices might bring some buyers back to pickups, but the credit crunch still looms.

I reckon something fishy is going on with the price of premium fuel. My local servo used to sell it for 4 c a litre extra, then 6 c, and last week it was 10c a litre extra, and its only 95. Its a scam, they are jacking up the prices of 95 and 98 to gouge motorists and recoupe some of their profits from having to lower their prices of 91 to avoid media targeting them.

Robbing peter to pay paul. P ricks.

If fuel was $3 a litre, and you had a V8, you wouldn't just get in your car and drive wherever you want, whenever you want.... Just think $200 to fill up a Commodore, you wouldn't drive anywhere unless you really had to. $800 for Melb to Sydney and back.... OUCH!!

Prices jumped 16-19c here overnight. No good reason for it. Also still waiting for gas to come down!

1.22 for United E10 (been putting it into the Falcons for years) so it was nice. Mind you it went to 1.35 today.

I heard on the radio this morning that LPG should be dropping in price soon as the price of the ingredients to make it have fallen.

Regular ULP here in Cairns is still about $1.40. Last time I checked it was...

Gay.

Well realistically its good for performance car owners.... because a lot the paranoid ppl offloaded their cars about 2 months ago when PETROL ARMAGEDDON was beginning...

I just bought an AU2 Ghia 5.0ltr with 100,000km, the full hamburger with the lot (except no sunroof)...
and i paid $10k....

realistically thats a bargain I think.... i got it insured and the company did market value at $14,500.... thats not even agreed.... without charging me much I could get it insured for $16k (which is what I did).... so at least if I write it off in the next 12 months or it gets pinched (highly unlikely)... i score about 6 grand....

So hopefully those people looking for performance bargains have got what they wanted....

My bet is the price won't change - the lower costs will just see more profits for the fuel companies.

I asked the lady at the local Shell servo why V-power was now 13c dearer than regular unleaded, instead of the usual 10c. She said something about now that one of the Shell servo's in Geelong is selling E10, it has caused the price difference to go up?? Work that one out.
