FFS.....
One car only. No modifications, either performance or cosmetic. Ugly = camry/avalon/mondeo etc looking Pretty = mustang/BA GT/porsche etc looking. ugly is significantly quicker than pretty. (and no I am not saying that camrys are quicker than GTs before some idiot arcs up) Does that make it easier.................. |

pretty for sure ,you will never win the race anyway always someone quicker .
your list of ugly cars don't even exist in my eyes ,cosmetic also means nice appointment so no brainer imo, just buy a bike if you want a bit of fast on the side

I vote for the fast/ugly.
Of course you can only do 110km's as others have mentioned, but I like the idea (feeling) of sitting behind the wheel of a good handling and performing car. |

Thanks for putting it in context, that makes it easier for me.
Gone the shallow superficial way - Pretty and less fast. I've gotta like the look of a car otherwise I'd never get one. I can't own a butt ugly car, no matter how good it is!!

Pretty for me.
No point on a fast car on the streets anymore, as long as It turns heads I'm happy. |

As Borat would say, "whatever one has the stronger chick magnet"...I suspect that would be the pretty one

1) In my garage so I can't see it. 2) Where ever I park it when I go somewhere so I can't see it. 3) Around me while I am driving it so I can't see it. The interior to me is more important than the exterior because that is where I am. This is why I always bought Fairmont Ghias instead of XRs and a BA GT-P instead of BA GT. I really did not give a rats bum about what other people think about how it looks. But then again I used to own an AU so that is obvious........ |

Does the preference for a nice interior over a nice exterior extend to the house you live in, or is it just cars?...I'm having visions here of a run down weatherboard shack with an interior of marble tiles, granite benchtops and expensive artwork.

I'd go the fast ugly car, having a nice looking car without guts is like having a supermodel girlfriend with no vagina IMO.

I'll have a beige or pink Skelta, Clubman or Nota Fang (look that up in your Funk & Wagnells kiddies) before I take a red Alfa Brera or black Audi TT V6 (gen 1).
Yes, I currently own a Honda EB Civic so I'm reasonably familiar with what an ugly car looks like. My other cars are "if you lost some weight and put on makeup someone MAY find you attractive" in looks, but that isn't why I bought them.

Correct me if I have this wrong Flappist:
The way I like to think of this is, it's like comparing a FG GT-E to a Subaru WRX STi, They are both fast cars, The Subaru is substantially faster than the GT-E, especially around a track, but damn is it hideous. Meanwhile the GT-E is fast enough to entertain most people, and on the plus size, it is an absolutely beautiful piece of kit (remembering that beauty is in the eye of the beholder). Personally I would prefer the GT-E.

I chose the slow good looking one. Why? because for 95% of the time I drive in a sedate manner on or below the limit, so a fast ugly car will have no benefit to me other than the fact that it will be useful perhaps for the 5% of the time I flang my car down the M5 some early mornings. |
