seen several marked fg's along the new england in nsw. also to note, in toowoomba, we have SS commodore utes with "honda" racing stickers and the like on then, very tricky 300C, nearly unpickable, and a hummer has been used in Dalby (an hour west).

Here in Vic only seen a FG Taxi. No police cars, the cars they use up in my end of the woods are still a VZ, a VE and a Territory in my local area. Only ever seen one highway patrol car ever and it was a VE.

I have even heard that up on the NSW north coast they have a Kombie with WRX running gear that does a roaring trade (maybe more fiction than fact but I have heard about it from several sources)
Down here we have unmarked Territory Turbos doing radar work.

That seems rather odd, considering the parts (along with the cars themselves) are made here in Melbourne! Or do you speak of "other" parts?

He was close enough to the road i could make out the badge on his shoulder, and it wasnt a HAIRDRYER he was hanging out the drivers window

QLD just got a batch of Red XR6 Turbos as candy cars.. they have been going through Bryan Byrt Ford getting predelivery done. The coppas also started getting XT's up here, the last lot of BFIIs they got were Futuras, but with the increase on standard equipment with the XT i guess they have gone back to them.

No we don't!

The only people in emergency services who might have access to a car like that would be the Police Commissioners or the NSW Fire Brigade Commissioner/RFS Commissioners

I have yet to see an FG police car in Victoria. I believe it is because the MDT's mounting brackets they have do not fit in them.

I have friends at 4 stations in Sydney and none of them have an FG yet.

OT, but the Operation Taipan cars in NSW are really hard to pick. Saw a black Subaru Forrester in Elizabeth St yesterday arvo.
It was only that I was driving a bus, and up high enough to see down over the dash that I saw the light box sitting there. Would never have picked it.

gee thanks for explaining that to me i would never of guessed, who would have thought that a car would come off the production line get sent to a dealer then Victoria Police leasing co. Would then need more PARTS to be turned into a police car

I know a few of the local boys in blue who are into their cars and I have asked them its just rumour the current unmarked cars here are commodores.

a word of caution for the NSW Central Coast/ Newcastle ppl that travel the F3 on this forum. There is a Black VE SS commodore unmarked car with XX-0601 on the plates, got my missus the other day.

There is also anothe unmarked black VE SS with 'southern Cross' sticker on the rear window( thays sly).

Saw another marked car today, was green VE SS (with white decals as opposed to the standard black) and it had blue custom plates with RBT on them, looked ok for what it was....one of those 'H' cars.

We've got an FG Taxi here in dubbo, and suprisingly a marked BMW X5 cop car.

At the Dubbo show last weekend the cop stand had this completely decked out Mercedes 4WD, bloody woodgrain and chrome exerywhere, 21" custom wheels, leather interior, monitors in the head rests, and a nice big V8. I should have taken the camera.

Wasn't there a couple of three wheelers?

I think that FG patrol car won't be out for sometime and i think they would be only xr6t as the V8 still from BA to BF stalk and them selves turning too fast etc
