Ok, interesting. I was just going off what I had been told. I was also told that the seats were made in China, not Thailand, but I disregarded that. How long ago did they take the seat trims overseas?

Close to the end of 06 (during the big cost cutting drive) it was decided. Thailand is the country I heard, so it may be China. Either way it isn't the middle aged Chinese ladies sewing it any more.

vztrt - Broadmeadows 1, where seats were previously stitched, has become Focus receiving. There just isn't room inside Broadmeadows to do seats any more. Futuris still trims them, however.

Dave_au - used to be SFH, however this has probably changed, however I though FG's windows had Ford Autoglass printed on it. I'm Probably wrong, however.
My FG has Ford stamped on every glass panel, so no mention of Pilkington/Viridian.

I see. My Territory had Pilkington Australia on the front and rear windscreens. I stand corrected.

I see Chinese writing on all the wiring looms in the BA. I think the EL also had Chinese writing on a few looms too.

Back in the eighties I used to pick up seats from Bridgestone and take them to GMH/Toyota and also Nissan and the dashboards I picked up at Tuppaware and took them to Ford
sort of made you think who made who and that was twenty odd years ago
thanks John
