Be near to a toilet about 3 hours after consumption.

Footlong Ham, pineapple, lettuce, swiss cheese,tomato onion, olives, carrot capsicum and cucumber on honey oat bread.. with lots of southwest
thats all i get really or will maybe swap the ham for roast chicken

According to McDonalds our RDI's are -
Fat - 68.5g
Sat Fat - 23g
Salt - 2315mg

Make up your own mind - I guess you get some good stuff out of the salads with Subway but its a hard sell for me with Subway. They of course offer the Ham etc etc which is very healthy but most people go for the ones I listed above thinking they've done better that McDonalds/KFC/Hungry Jacks!

Yep its very misleading sometimes and suprising when you look into it how bad it can be for you. Those values are before you even add sauces, and going by this thread, southwest seems to be a crowd favourite. Southwest sauce is packed with saturated fat and in some cases (from how much ive seen them put on) could just about double the fat content of the sub.

Having said that I love subway but will only eat it at lunch time, I have footlong chicken strips or roasted chicken, wheat bread toasted, no cheese, avocado, all salads except olives and jalapenos, pepper, and I stress a small amount of sweet onion sauce. Perfect.

off topic for a sec, i used to love subway, but now i eat sumo salad EVERY day during the week ! For the past 2 weeks now anyway, ceasor salad with avocado added in....mmmmmmm

The Sandwich Artists always give me a weird look and make me explain myself when I ask them to tesselate the cheese for me.

It makes so much more sense to tesselate the cheese!!!



I think cheese tesselation techniques should be tought at the Sandwich Artist School. Then again, if its like Regular Art School, does much work ever really get done?

I find most of them actually tesselate the cheese when I have been there.
Only the odd instance where they don't.

I love a good subway and prob have it atleast once a week, prefer it so much over maccas and KFC.
I normally get a Subway Club on white bread with swiss cheese and all the salads, no sauce and salt+pepper, and wash it down with a blue gatorade.
Been having that same some for ages, but sometimes I'll try meatball or chicken teryaki. But club is my fav.

Footlong melt on Italian, sprinkling of lettuce, cheese, tomato jalapenos sometimes, no sauce.

For those that like subway, if there's a Zambrero's near you - grab one of their burritos; lamb or beef both great, and a very filling and surprisingly healthy meal (not sure if they're only in ACT though - it was started by a local doctor who wanted good value healthy mexican food, and all proceeds go to charity).

I used to go for the Chicken and Bacon Ranch, but haven't felt like one for over a year. I usually go for Italian BMT either foot long or 6" depending on how hungry I am.

Used to go for the footlong steak and cheese on italian bread but realised how bad that actually is lol changed to a plain old footlong ham on multi grain with salad and ranch sauce..tastes great!

i just go the footlong honey oat, ham n turkey with lettuce, cucumber and carrot. no sauce most of the time but if i do then il have honey mustard.

Always better than McDonalds. Doubt the sub rolls would look the same after a few months like maccas ones

italian herb and cheese bread, sub club (beef, turkey, ham) with 'normal' cheese, toasted, with lettuce and carrat, ranch sauce

used to have foot long with cookies and drink, now go the 6 inch and maybe a drink.

i usually would prefer subway, but i can get maccas/hungry jacks at less than half the price.. the wallet usually wins the argument

I have 3 different options, and it rarely changes from these.

1) Tuna Wrap. Wrap, tuna, tasy cheese, lettuce, tomato, capsicum, pickles, s+p, honey mustard sauce.

2) Chicken Teriyaki Wrap. TC, tasy cheesy, lettuce, tomato capsicum, pickles, s+p, teriyaki sauce.

3) 6" Multigrain. Turkey, Avacado, Swiss Cheese, All salads except jalapenos and olives, Thousand Island Dressing.

Usually try and be pretty healthy. Occasionally might be naughty and have a double choc chip cookie... or two.. heh

After first reading this thread a couple of days ago i noticed alot of people liked the steak and cheese sub with southwest sauce.....so about an hour ago i smashed one down man there awsome,i have always stuck to either the pizza or the bmt subs.

Thanks for opening my eyes to a world of new posibilities guys ahahaha.
