Hi,the only stickers on your car that dont appeal to me are the ones on the door mirrors, other than that they are fine, the mud spats i like too,.....on the back window of our ute and sedan we have a big tickford wing, and on the little windows on the side of the ute there are tiny Van Halen stickers,...in the end it comes down to personal choice, but some cars ive seen are wayyy to overdone for "my" liking...

Just to elaborate as to why I'm not a sticker fan and in no way is this directly at the OP, just on stickered cars in general.

Why do people put stickers on the exterior of their car? Because you want other people to see them. You can say its for your own pleasure, but really how often do you sit and stare at your side mirrors for example. If the majority of people think stickers look bad/cheap/tacky/gay etc (and as a guess I'd say a majority of people DO have a negative view on "stickered cars") then every time you drive your car, a majority of people are looking at your car thinking "gee, that looks bad/cheap/tacky/gay"

And personally I'd rather have clear vision out of my rear window... Is that car tailing me from a distance a cop? I don't need reminding of my name or how many family members i have and their hobbies each time I check my rear view.

Or, I couldn't afford a GT, XR etc all I could afford was an XT plus $100 worth of Imitation XR/GT stickers from eBay.

There is one sticker I don't mind having, it's a small red diamond and it sits on my number plates! And funnily enough, there are people who won't buy an LPG car because they don't want that little red sticker ruining their cars appearances. (I'm sure I read a thread on this very forum where people stated this!!)

But at the end of the day, who cares what others think. If everyone's car looked the same, who would you laugh at?

I personally do not like the mirror or spoiler stickers at all, would pull them off instantly, not sure what the back window sticker is supposed to mean, so that would go as well, the car will look so much better without them.

Not sure why people want to take the mud spats off? They look good, and very neat and protect the paintwork on your car, it's not like they are the huge mud flaps of the 70's. Wish that made factory mud spats for my FPV I would fit them in an instant.

Do yourself a favour and re-read the OP's post.

That is a matter in how you decide to interpret that. But yes, in my opinion they door look crap and cheapen the look of the cars.
Anything else you would like to add?
Get off your high horse, the OP's first post was open to interpretation as it included a picture and description of stickers. So it could have been seen as asking if people like them. Everyone interprets things differenet on the internet, who would have thought that eh. In reply to the topic, i dont mind small stickers i have a couple on my rear hatch.

Ummm.. personally those huge stickers make me think the owner of the is a er um (cant say it or itll be deleted). I see plenty of them (usually fitted to commodores and excels!), usually saying BUDDA or PLAYBOY or PLAYGIRL... or a name or other jibberish which doesnt make much sence.

The other thing to is that you may meet mr plod you can say that sticker is obscuring your vision too...

Dont like the stickers on the wing mirrors, much to big!

My personal opinion:
-Mirror stickers no good. The 'idea' itself isn't a bad one but it just didn't turn out too great.
-rear window sticker is too big. I don't think it should be written off all together. Small stickers can actually look good and it's a cheap effective way of personalising YOUR car.
-Wing stickers look good. Very subtle and look great on the octane colour. Put some 19" Dark agents on and it would suit perfectly ;)

In saying all of this, I'm anti sticker on my own cars. I can't even keep the next due service sticker on the windscreen lol

Don't mind a few stickers as long as its not over done or bogan ie 'UNIT' or 'SKIN' across the back window.

I used to have a FORD sticker on the back of mine...got sick of it after a month and took it off. Best Place IMO if you want stickers is the rear qtr window. Love the AFF 'FORCE FED FORDS' one

personally, i don't mind the one on the rear wing - it is different
with the mirror stickers, i think would be better if just "xr" and no "falcon". the falcon part isn't needed in my opinion and makes it look a little tacky. a nice logo on the mirror taking up around 60-70% of it would look better in my opinion than one that seems to have been made to cover virtually the whole mirror

putting stickers on can be dangerous from an aesthetic standpoint. once one has been applied, it is very easy to have too few or too many. if it was me, i would try the mirror sticker without the falcon and move the "xr" to a more centred position. i think if you lose the mirror sticker, the one on the wing will be "lonely" and look out of place

as for the rear window, i think it is too big. i have a small sticker at the bottom of my window, so of course being biased, i would suggest to go with a smaller one, that is not in your face, but is obvious to anyone who takes a closer look at your car

as others have said, it is your car, you need to be happy - others opinions do not matter, if you are happy with it

There are a few stickers which are acceptable:

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I dont mind a small .com sticker like the FF ones but personaly unless its a factory decal it sucks and has no need to be there... I think name plates are a waste of money too!

But as others have said each to your own, if thats what you like its your car to do it too.

If they did a good job, and gave you a good deal why the hell not?
I hate it when they place one on without asking. But if they ask and I like the company, I would allow it.

Our Falcon has a couple of small stickers on the back window, one with the flag saying "Support out troops", and another small one from a Ford dealer in California who happens to have the same name as us.
Our old WB Ute has a few on the back window...a small "Lady Luck" sticker, a bigger chrome Hypnotoad one with "Obey!" Under it, and one I had made up saying "Steel body, chrome bumpers, cast iron engine: just as nature intended".

When I was akid I collected stickers and would want to put them all over the back of my Dads HQ, but he wouldnt let me.
I hate stickers on cars now, but each to their own.
Having said that, saw a nice XB the other day with a big Holley sticker on the back window, so now I want one, just looked cool, old skool.
That and maybe an STP sticker too.

Yes my previous post was blunt, but that was my personal opinion and buddy92 asked us what all us guys think. And i stand by my statement even though its not constructive but afew agree with my post. Me using the word "ghey" doesn't translate to the meaning people may think, its a term used by us(me) younger generation. Here,

Ghey (definition) - Colloquial term originally created by the students of St. Leonard’s College to condescend Chumma (a person who is clearly ghey). It developed new meaning amongst peers and can now be used as both a playful compliment (which can sometimes cause confusion amongst people who are unaware of its meaning or when not used in the correct tone) and a derogatory description of an event, person or object. It is pronounced differently to ‘gay’, similar to the first sound bite (it does not rhyme with day). It has no homosexual connotations and its derogatory nature implies more that something is lame, stupid, unjust or just plain ‘ghey’.

One day it will be in the dictionary between ghetto blaster and Ghiberti where it rightly belongs, as it is somewhere between gangstaness and culture.

* "Ya ghey"
* Amy and Loz exclaim cheerily and in high-pitch "Ya ghey!" Lucy sarcastically replies "you guys are so ghey"
*Chumma's foolish acts of throwing eggs in Southland (a shopping centre) make it clear that he is truly ghey, and not in the complimentary sense

(I just love uban dictionary)

But questioning someone's intelligents over a word they use, quote "How intelligent, calling something gay." is lacking knowledge themselves.

But i should of added to my first post, Leave the stickers if you personally like them, its your car and you can do what ever you like to it. Who really cares what other people think aslong as you like the way it looks.

/end
