The F3 is getting much better compared to what it was. My parents used to have a place near Kincumber and the Gosford exit was a shocker! Still remember the 1 lane each way... What would that be?? 20 years ago now?

The Inlaws are at The Entrance so we use the F3 every few weeks and have had no complaints, other than the drivers!

Amen brother...our highway out here (Capricorn) is being worked on...but the "repairs" seem to be mostly of the "chuck a layer of bitumen over the top and let the road trains back over it again that evening" type of thing...
Seeing the amount of taxes we pay out here, we should be entitled to a lot better service...

Yes plenty of proof, the highway where I live is destroyed on the way down to the port when the trucks are heavily loaded and much less damaged on the way home to the mine . The damage also only begins out the front of the plant the trucks leave from. Trucks totally ruin roads how obvious do you want it Given that there are more (in numbers) fully loaded B double trucks driving on the highways where I live than passenger cars I bet my 95% is an understatement.

The roads should be made to withstand it in the first place of course but the reality is the government are muppets and give contracts to people that are equally muppeted.. so they aren't

Virtually everyone is a road user and virtually everyone pays tax. Therefore everyone already pays for roads.

As for government workers taking a 10% pay cut. Man I hope that was meant in jest. Teachers, nurses, fire department, police, hospital staff, etc, are all paid for by government. Should they all take a 10% cut to make your trip to work cheaper?

No Ducati not talkin about the normal pay'd employ they wouldnt save much. Talkin about all the one's on 150 - 650 thou a year

Transurban are making an absolute KILLING on those roads, and they still feel the need to put tolls up each year.

Well I think you should see how much trucks have to pay in rego,fuel and the rest of the **** that goes with it greenfoam. It's ridiculous now they will get slugged with carbon tax as well. Put simply this country couldnt exist without them. Rant over

No point arguing with me about countries not existing without trucks. It was here a long time before any trucks were. I don't know how much rego on a truck is but given the weight of them it should be 30 times that of a passenger car. I doubt it's that much but it should be.

They ruin the half arsed roads we have and that's just how it is. It's not up to me to raise the money to build decent roads but it surely would be nice to still have a highway that was marked at 100km/h rather than down to 80km/h due to being excessively damaged and buckling a wheel on average once each 6 months. Most forest tracks are in better condition and this is in a country that's supposed to be booming :p

Whatever costs you increase on truck drivers/owners, you are simply just passing the cost back to the consumer. So you're going to be paying the increased costs.

well a b/double combo is 12000-14000 dollars in qld so thats a fair share i think. Yes they should be built properly in the first place for sure.
