Intelligent access - thats something the FG Falcon should have had when the FG2 came or even earlier, would've helped sales.
To be honest Ive had it (MB Mondeo XR5T) and it really did not interest me.....

I think all Falcon needs at the moment is a downsize / price reduction, maybe a 4 cylinder ecoboost XT for $28990 as a camry rival might give it back some market share or possibly a G6E Ecoboost for $38 kay.... putting it right in the mix of its main competitors (Honda Euro Luxury, Mazda 6 Luxury etc).

Even then we dont see Honda Accord Euros or Mazda 6's selling in big numbers... Its a dieing segment for everyone.

Inflatable seatbelts would be a great idea, anyone who has been in an accident knows how much it hurts when all your weight is pushing forward on that little strap across your chest.

Certainly beats flying out the windscreen any day though.

Every new technology safety of comfort related is a good idea ... but technology needs to be prioritised to have a positive sales impact

i have to say i`m not really confident with some of these gadgets like the blind spot gizmo, it`s probably a good thing, but i prefer the old fashioned way using your mirrors keeping eyes on the ball and being aware of the traffic around you, i just don`t trust them, as for the hands free start/entry thing, can take it or leave it , i`m happy with the key fob, easier controls on seats would be a good thing, no more hand/thumb wheel devices for us old farts with dodgey bones, the hands free tail gate i like.

The only US Ford models in the current lineup I want to see on our shores is the Mustang & F-series.

Unless they drop the V8 into an AWD Taurus....

All the other w**k factor gizmos are irrelevant.

Disclaimer: Yes yes, I know thats the sort of thing people want to see & would sell cars, blah, blah, blah. And my opinion isnt worth the server space for this post in the scheme of things, but I dont care. I know what I like & I like what I know.

I like all these new features. Except keyless start. Quite annoying honestly. It's nice to just pull on the door handle and it unlocks, but I hate the start button.

Only the way Ford Australia does it with the GT...which I understand you have to put the normal key in the normal ignition switch and turn it like any other car, and then push a separate start button...everyone else just has a fob that can sit in your pocket or in the center console or wherever and then you put your foot on the brake and press the start button once and release.

People need to get over the idea that the only car worth considering is a V8 with rear wheel drive...those days are, to be blunt, long gone. Once upon a time people bought V8's as a normal matter of course, in large numbers. Now it's become a niche enthusiast market...people who want to tow things get big diesel four wheel drives. People who want a family car apparently buy things like Corollas and the Mazda 3, which are hardly "small cars" anymore.

If Ford USA brings out the Fusion, with the equipment levels it has in the states, buyers would wonder why they had put up with the Falcon for so long...do a bit of reading on what it offers...amazing stuff.

If you look hard enough you can see.
