Hi. A lot of concrete mixer trucks ran ford x-flows after the holden red/blue industrial motors ran out in the days before they went to hydraulics. I have put a 4.1 alloy head engine in to a p76 andf have seen one in a 21ft ski boat. Cheers MD

I am toying with the idea of a mid mounted turbo DOHC into the back of a Late 90's transit for events like Easternats and some strip action for the giggles of it.

Oh and a Xflow with a iron head in a SWB cruiser! Windscreen had UFKNBLVBLE on it lol!
And it was! She lifted up front once and came back down to bend a leaf spring!

Completely in-economical, but I'd like to put the BA engine into an old 60 series Landfruiser and hook it up to gas. The barra doesn't even break a sweat hauling my BA around so won't have any problems hauling around a cruiser.

You'd have a reliable old school cruiser that is a pleasure to drive, but is also cheap to run if you went down the gas route. I drove an old diesel 60 for 9 years before my ford. I have a soft spot for them.

How would be barra hold up towing a big load in extreme heat for a couple of thousand kms? Would be a good test.

Couldnt see how a barra donk in a 4x4 or truck couldnt do the job
Landrovers had small six petrols and a power upgrade was to a holden red motor
Nissan had 2.8L petrol sixes in their early MQ/MK patrols, the same donks from the Z cars, they do the job fine
Ive a 2 tonne toyota dyna early 80s truck here, it came factory with a 2L 4 pot engine ,many times that little truck had more than 2 tonne on its back, but kept goin, loved the juice tho
