Glad you are okay. Private Health insurance has "pre-existing clauses" also age loading. if you didn't take out health insurance before you turned 30, there is a 1% premium increase for every year over 30. Health insurance is good for elective surgery etc. But accidents etc ambos will take you to a public hospital, as private hospitals don't do emergencies. Also, public hospitals have Drs 24/7, private don't, oncall after 6...nurse/patient ratio is higher in public than private...private health insurance isn't all its cracked up to be....I am a nurse, speak from experience...
