It's all the up to the max height. Primary plan is to have the for storage only and store a car under it, which will fit easily. I only need to duck a little to get under and I'm 5'11.

I don'r think my other XB will fit under the coupe :(

I will be buying two hoists shortly, and I made my slab according to the manufacturers recommendation, not forum recommendation.

My shed will have the two hoists as soon as you drive into the shed next to each other, workshop, workbenches and tools will be in front of the hoists under the mezzanine floor.

She's approved allright. The hoist in the listing is only for display. It says that in the listing.
Some of the real images here. It just looks like the same one that a few other people have posted
I can't use the full height due to my garage ceiling height, but I really wanted it so I could park both cars in 1 spot.

Looks good, I want to get a four poster, but must be Australian Standards, if your one is then that is a pretty good buy, as the Australian Standards ones seem to cost a bit more.

This one looks solid and has a 2 metre lift which is something I would want so I can walk under it easily.

I liked this one, but from what I understand I can't really walk under it without ducking my head:

All up was $2950 delivered from Perth to Adelaide. Only took 3 days from order to delivery.
Good choice, I have the same hoist, built it myself like you. DAM those runners are heavy.

I have limited space but beats laying on your back

Sorry hendrixhc I meant what height.

Can any one tell me the benefits of a two post over head brace or floor brace?

I'm fitting an over head brace on mine .. That way it supports all around .. Mine has about 6 dyna 20mm bolts each side . We channel the base so anchor points in concrete are 150mm thick with extra reo & footing under posts .. The top cross bar will have height limiter switch connected .. Not much strength in lower cross brace .. Mainly covers hydraulic and cable lines.. The bar through end of posts bolted to floor takes the weight .. The towers pull in if not bolted to floor .. Naturally the top brace will limit height . But in our case we are limited by council .. Stretched the height as it is..

Overhead gives you ground clearance, but you need to allow for more roof space.

Some other points to consider choosing between 2 post and 4 post
2 post allows you to change wheels and do brakes etc easily
2 post take up less room
4 post will give you more clearance if you have cars parked next to the hoist as there is no centre post for the doors to hit on.
4 post is also better if you are storing cars as it doesn't leave the suspension hanging unnaturally
4 post doesn't need a heavy concrete footing and most models are secure enough without needing dynabolts

Just found the perfect hoist for your shed that won't take up much room

I have a two post hoist with cables that run over the top, I needed 3.4m height for clearance. I can park my ute under Mel's coupe but only if I take the back wheels of the coupe. Asymmetrical arms help with swinging the door open a bit more when getting in or out. The four post hoists can be good too especially with a rolling jack attachment.
