If you were in charge of the Ranger 4x2 program you'd be happy because of a 300%+ increase in sales.

Also Fiesta and Focus long discontinued but they're still trickling in sales - must be orders being fulfilled.

Turkish Delight Transit Heavy is an absolute joke - 3 sales?
Are the increase in 4x2 sales due to the their availability and people not willing to wait for 4x4?

Ordinary numbers for the Pathfinder. Isn't it new?

Just looked at the Nissan website, only Ti and Ti-L available, the latter is $90k!

The Navara is an ok ute, but that’s just it, it’s ok. It’s definitely not worth the money they’re asking for it. It belongs just below where the Triton currently sits, and Triton belongs back where it used to be, an Exceed equivalent GLS Premium around $42k

I reckon you're on the money, if they've got the availability there then they'll be getting sales.

Also Navara 4x2 numbers

A friend bought a Patrol Ti V8, it is nice. I think if it had black badges and exterior trim it would be spot on. I’m surprised Nissan aren’t selling more, but there is a fair bit of competition in that segment.

Another good month for Ford. Its great that overall Ranger beat Hilux, but even better that in the 4x4 segment, nearly 900 more Rangers where sold than Hilux... Pretty good stuff...

As for Toyota as a whole, I don't think they have any reason to worry, they are still 6500 better than 2nd position which is crazy.. For the "whitegoods" of the vehicle segment.

Decent numbers for Puma all things considered, not to mention Mustang that is on the cusp of replacement.
At the end of the day, their numbers are pretty dismal.(Ranger the exception of course.)235 for Puma is not that great, they should be doing far better as it is one if not the best in its class.

You have to remember Qashqai has just released( in this country) the J13 model, once it gets into stride it should easily double those numbers.X-Trail likewise will start to do very good numbers. Those two models are their ‘bread & butter’ of their business.Supply constraints being the only achilles heel.

Yep...

Tell you what though, when we bought our Escape, the salesman was not doing a real good job to sell us the Endura we were also looking at, to the point he said the name "poor as it sounds like a condom brand"...

That is hardly the type of sales man they need...perhaps they need to improve at the dealers...

Lucky the Escape was the best deal being an demo...may have ended up with a x-trail that made our short list...

They need to just let you buy what you want without stepping foot into the dealership,

Every time I've bought a car, be it for my employer or myself I've known what I wanted before I even stepped foot into the dealership.

Why can't I pay for it online then it turns up in my driveway?

I've never met the spare parts blokes from my local Ford dealership but they've been dropping off parts to me for the last 8 years, why can't they do the same with a new car?

I don't think some of Nissan's name's do them any justice.

I've overheard people referring to them as Cashcow, Entrails and Joke.

Puma in the UK sold a tad over 35,000 in 2022.Escape(Kuga) just over 25,000 units. They will never sell in that volume here.People just do not want them, they go for the ‘proven’ stuff,Toyota,Kia & Hyundai especially. Our buying habits are completely diff to the UK. I quite like the Endura, what killed it though was a lack of a seven seater.Typical Ford, thinking they know the market.

I use to own a Qashqai in Ti spec with a six speed manual, just a great car, could have done with a bit more power, but never ever gave one ounce of trouble, did a few big trips out to Broken hill & Hervey Bay.Could easily cruise on 140 comfortably, very good tourer.Wish I still had it,& would not hesitate to purchase another one if I was in the market.(which I won’t be for a very long time.) I would happily have a joke er Juke as a 2nd vehicle.Great little 3 pot turbo engine.

I wasn't doubting how good their product is or isn't, but they could come up with better names from what I hear.
Maybe I need some more grown up friends to hang with ??

Likened to Great Wally.

The Puma is better than Juke. Three cyl also.
But sadly neither car has a manual box which would make them both a much better drivers car.
One thing on three cyl engines - there is no nil engine braking you have to take care on steep downgrades

Puma has the 3cyl Ecoboost Tubo engine(same as my Fiesta ‘S’. )They do come in a manual in the UK, but alas not here.At least Ford saw sense to get rid of the ‘wet belt’ & go to chain instead.Nothing but trouble with those wet belts. Mine seems fine @ 94,000kms. Frequent oil changes is a must with these little engines.

Could the rise in Ranger 4x2 sales be on the back of its 5 star crash rating compared to its rivals?

Hard to say, there was a massive push what 6 weeks back re fleet stock on the floor ready for delivery, that might be it, councils etc are not buying base models based on safety ratings, purely on cost and reliability,

My work are atm keeping with 4x2 rangers for daily fleet and moving to VW Transporters for Van duties

Honda(what they say anyway) are going for the ‘premium’ end of the market, crazy really. There cars are very well put together & quality is top notch as they are all coming out of Japan, except CRV which is due to start coming out of Japan late this year with the new Hybrid model. All future Honda models will be Hybrid & EV(down the track). The majority of Civics would have been Hybrid anyway.Overpriced? Quite possibly, but it is what it is.Nothing is ‘cheap’ anymore.Majority of manufacturers are increasing their prices quite frequently, so Honda’s pricing is not looking that bad. They have always said right from the very outset, they are chasing profit over volume which to me seems unsustainable. But,what would I know!

Covid would have done a number of local production I reckon, if it was still going.

Got to have a laugh at 462 people who think the Jimny is a good buy, sort of like miniature 70-Series in terms of a lack of refinement, lack of power and cheeky asking prices.
I don't get it either. I saw one parked near me a few weeks ago and just out of curiosity I looked in the back window to see how much room there was. Absolutely none. So if you genuinely used it for camping, 4 wheel driving etc you couldn't even carry anything in it. Couldn't even fit an esky in there. So what's the point? Just buy a small SUV like a CX3, Puma etc.

25 Pajeros? Didn't that go out of production ages ago?

Navara has completely bombed. But so have a lot of others in the segment. The more Ranger and Hilux sell, the fewer Tritons/Navaras/BT50's/D-Max's etc sell. It's becoming a 2 horse race atm.
