Thanks, I will let you all know how I think it went as soon as possible, and will definately let you all know as soon as I find out if I got the job or not.

BTW, it was good to meet both you (Jac) and Eamon on Saturday, always good to be able to put a face and voice to a name on here. Hope the trip over was worth it!

Exactly! And next time I won't settle for anything less then one in MINT condition, in the mean time while I look the big, slow, thirsty, heavy XF can get me from A to B...

Thanks everybody for the wishes of good luck!

Thanks everyone, now if only I could find my birth certificate and therefore save me a trip to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, 595 Collins Street Melbourne tomorrow to pick up a copy.

First interview where I've needed to bring my birth certificate...

Lol funny thing is, you'll go pick up your certificate and get home, look for something else and probably end up finding it.

Yup, but the problem is, I am currently unemployed, and therefore completely broke. $17.50 is about $17 more then I actually have, and no, I'm not joking! :(

LOL! I think it's that they want proof that I am who I say I am, particularly seeing as it is an insurance company I am applying for a job with after all...

Default Update

I just got back from the interview.

First of all, my XF only went through about 7 litres of fuel all up, not bad for a 65km trip, I know because I only put in 8 litres of fuel yesterday when it was down to 1 bar left on the fuel gauge, and now it still has two bars...

I managed to get a car park DIRECTLY in front of the building where the interview was held:

Then, when I went to pay for the carpark:
And calling the "out of order hotline" 5 times only resulted in getting an engaged tone 5 times, so after taking photographic evidence as well as checking all the other machines (all of them has the same message on them) and noticing that none of the other cars that were parked had tickets, I headed up to the interview.

I think the interview went well, the interviewer seemed impressed with the responses I gave to the questions, and I'll hear back either tomorrow or the next day.

And there was no sign of a parking fine when I got back to the car

If I was sucessful, I'll have to come in for another interview, and they will ring my references and talk to them, and IF all goes well, I'll start work in less then a fortnight.

I'll update again as soon as I hear back from them and have any more news to share...

Congrats Troy, glad to hear you have been successful!!!

Yes it was good to meet you, especially when I found out AFTER we left, that you were YOU! I had no idea who you were! Eamon told me later! So I apologise if I seemed strange - I wish I had known who you were, I would have asked you how you went then and there!!!

Well, next time we will have a good chat!

Best of luck for the next interview mate!!!

Jac

Hehe, thanks. I thought I had introduced myself, but I guess I didn't, sorry!

You planning on coming over to Victoria again sometime, our speed cameras and loony drivers didn't scare you off coming back over?

I'll be able to tell everyone how this next interview went just after lunch time on Thursday, and I should know if I've got the job before the weekend

*crosses his fingers*

That may not be such a bad idea, after all, the Minginator was featured in one of their ads, and if I mention how much of a car nut I am, and can therefore speak the same language as some of their customers (for example, if someone says they have a set of 18" ROH Furys, I'll know what they are, and not have to say "and what would they be" or the same thing is they mention they have a CAI)...

Damn, that's not going to happen, oh well, can't blame a bloke for trying, hahaha.

If I do get this job, it will be interesting to see how much cheaper I'll be able to get insurance for myself and my family members - they already mentioned in the interview that employees get discounts for insurance... Now I have a question to ask them, how much of a discount do I get on my insurance?

Ok, time for another update.

I went to the interview today, got to listen in on some actual calls and talk with one of the call centre staff as well as observe them working.

They interviewed me for nearly an hour before that, lots of questions, but I think I answered them to their satisfaction.

I'll find out soon if I got the job or not. I hope so...
