Jesus how big are parking fines in Aus? I don't know about the rest of NZ, but I've never seen a parking ticket bigger than $12 here.

If you get a speeding or parking ticket, it's no one's fault but your own. You know the law, if you don't like fines stop being an idiot.

just send them a letter saying you were broken down, and couldnt move the car...

2 weeks later they will send you a letter saying pretty much saying: PROVE IT

you then get your mate who is a mechanic to write you out a receipt for a tow and repairs, back date it to the day of the fine or the day after, then photocopy it and send it to them...

it works! ive done it twice!

Before you accuse people of being idiots maybe you should get your facts straight. Firstly, the speeding fines were all for doing less than 5kph over the limit...**** that, thats blatant revenue raising and they can bite me, I'll fightthem the whole way.
Secondly, 2 of the parking tickets were "mail specials" sent to me and also Mrs Casper for "double parking" while dropping kids off at school. Both I am contesting as there is ablsolutely no evidence it was done. This ticket was written around 2 minutes after the meter expired....and about 3 minutes before I go there. Now most normal people would probably not get a thrill out of writing someone a ticket like that but I think these pathetic wretches do. As for speed camera operators...they are not even worth dicussing. You can give me all the reasons ion the world why they are "just doing their job", it wont change my opinion of them being 100% total revenue raisers. I'd rather be on the dole that do that.

Remember, the SS were "only doing their job too"

I got my notices today as well... How 2 $50 fines turn into $256 is beyond me. The bastards are going to be waiting a long time for my money. I'll try for $5 a month and see how low I can get them to accept.

On a serious note though. It's very true that we need to take responsibility for our actions, but I have to agree with Casper - less than 5kph is nothing but revenue raising.

If I ever get a ticket for doin 62 in a 60 I will tell him/her to go ****em selves in no uncertain terms . atleast that way i'd be gettin a ticket for actually doin somethin wrong
