mine is build no 350
they were randomly numbered as holden were supposed to build 500 of them but stopped as soon as the rules changed, as they were loosing money on each one.
that's how desperate holden was to beat the skylines of the day.luckily they banned the skyline and holden didn't have to build the homoglation 500.
the vn group A was the ultimate holden and you are comparing it to the sprint, which may as well be the GT. so you are comparing apples with apples.
why did i buy a holden, well i am a ford person but the eb gt was too soft for me, and i did always like the vn group A and i saw one for sale and thought... i will never be able to buy a phase 3.. ( the ultimate ford.) this is the ultimate holden, i can afford that.
so now i have a group a.
Then i hotted it up !! and well the rest is history.
the ZF box is well umm ok. not great. but is definately a strong box.

they were both top of the range performancs models. it's like the typhoon compared to the SV6! 270kw vs 190kw ford won this time. isn't it funny holdens most powerful six 190kw fords base model XT 182kw

the SV5000 is a 200 kw engine, auto only
as the t5's of they day couldn't keep up with em, that is why the group A was 6 speed, back before the t56 days.

why would they randomly number them wouldn't they do it in an organised manner by going 1-302. also does that mean theres 198 VN group a Dash badges available for mock ups

Is there any truth to the block being stronger in the Group A? I am starting to like the regular VN SS's. I think they would be good as a run around.

Yes this is true
for example build no 200 does not excist.
yet someone made plaques and sold them.

The vn group A engine block included is completely different to the regular vn ss
the only thing the same is the oil pump, everything else is different

yes mate the SV5000 is the car I am thinking of.Dark Green in colour and an Awesome car in its day.

Ford had not yet put a V8 in a falcon of course they couldnt be touched. "for long"

I was thinking on a global scale, and something more than just a tarted up base model (like the current ****). BMW M5 and that Lotus Opel Omega spring to mind, thats probably about it for 1990.

ok if u want to do that paul give me a sc, make it 480 kw then well compare loll

seriously, i think that the engine is a bit better than the group a, but the weight of the vn helps alot, they were only like .3 secs appart on the quater

In all honesty the stock vn group A was a bit average in performance,
Bit like the xr8 of today, nothing down low, then all up top.

I remember , cause when mine was stock, it was boring,
couldn't decide whether to s/charge it or stroke it... so i did both !!
Now it has power everywhere !! 300 rw kw @ 3500 rpm !!
