seriously, its up to you if you want to remove them. Sometimes the clean look can be good. Ask yourself, do you like the wings there? If so, leave them, if not, remove them.

No, thats generally what happens when a thread gets out of hand. It gets a final comment and closed.

I though this would of been an ok thread as its debading a forte of the wings not putting them on, though I surpose the thread then wouldnt of started unless they where on in the first place :

I used a little metho to remove to excess glue left behind I assumed the paint work was build ford tough :

Im thinking of going for the no badges on the fender look but just wanted to gather opinions on what other people thought. I was just trying to see if anyone could give me a postive reason to remove them. I feel they make it looked cluttered but at the same time that removing them will make it look bare. There is also the forte issue and then next on the cards is deciding if I should remove the forte badge but the letters look preety sexy on it.

I don't think any ff member is looking to get : when trying to outrun your car. Im sure my forte with the tickford wings could beat it though ;)

I have a picture of your car on my wall from the ford mag and just noticed... no wings. Oh and its missing the .au on ff but i surpose that was back in the old days.

Its really a personal choice in the end. Its your car, it is your call. I'm not big on Tickford wings on non Tickford cars but its not my car and I dont have any right to tell you to remove them. Neither does anyone else.

Nooo... Dont' use a screwdriver!! Use a hairdryer to heat the surface then remove the badge by running fishing line behind it. To clean off excess glue use a 50/50 metho water mix.

Wow! This thread made the third page without getting closed! What a fantastic effort! Ok, on a more constructive note, the more times you want to decide, the less likely you are going to take the wings off. HOWEVER, if you do want to put the wings back on later, there's more chance of damaging the paintwork if you remove the wings again.

This post is probably as useless as many others in this thread, but just some food for thought.

Or flame to fire for others.......

Personally, I would go the with the de-badging.
Just make sure you are careful. I dont think it will look too bad bare.

I am not a huge fan of wings on a non tickford car. I say de-badge the whole car.
It will look clean and shmick.

If you are worried about the car looking bare, is it worth considering tasteful decals? It sounds like you want your car to be somewhat riced.
In any case, the decision is yours.

oh for christ sake...I wish people would get over all these stupid debates (wings, whether or not AU is fugly). Whatever, why people ask for other peoples opinions on such subjective things is beyond me. Fair enough its a forum; but there are certain issues that people just know other will fire up over.

Can we make a sticky with topics that have been done to death?
