There is far too many old people, with nothing better to do than complain to news papers and talkback radio. Anyone who enjoys driving, owns a nice car or even anyone associated with "modified" cars are rapidly becomming worse than drug dealers. But on the point of this thread I dont think its the NA XR6 or even the XR6T or XR8's they should worry about, its the 15yr old imports that scare me. Most of the kids driving them have no insurance, and the cars themselves have no modern safety features other than Seat Belts, some of which are retro fitted for ADR. Whats more if he was referring to xr6's in general, a 95 EF XR6 would be far safer than a 1989 nissan silvia.

Re the imports, I have to whole heartedly agree. They are scary and the tools who drive them tend to think they are invincable. I've lost count of the number of accidents I see with a particular ethnicity in a riced up import. And it is true about the insurance too, typically because insurance companies don't like insuring them and therefore charge huge premiums for them. That's why we have an increasing incidence of intimidation at accident sites where there are carloads of said ethnicity turning up to put the onus on the driver not at fault. Surprisingly, this is very common.

its extremely unfair to single out the xr6 as a "death machine" and for starters the money that an xr6 costs should rule out any young people owning them unless there rich parents buy it for them. im 18 years old and i know i havnt got the money for an xr6. the cars that are most dangerous are these little jap pieces of garbage with there rediculose mods that they have to do to them to get them going. and the problem is that these little jap cars fall rite into place as far as cost goes for a young person to buy one.

I thought all cars were death machines. They are all capable of killing you, we all do 60km/hr and come within 3 metres of cars doing 60km/hr the other way.
Idiots, best to write back I say or the majority starts to believe. Here in WA we should be writing in re safety devices they call radar detectors, or we are going to lose them too. Already mentioned here why we have not got any phase 4's across the country. John

His plan was to burr up a lot of people so that they would read his crap....
Do ya think it worked?........ Leave it alone and it will go away, keep pushing and he will push back just to burr you up more nad the all of a sudden some NNNNNN in the government will take notice and do some stupid knee jerk reaction because it must be a proble it was in 28 successive days of the newpaper...... The writer probably does not even know what a XR6 is. He probably saw one pared in the street near his office and thought "That car looks fast, it must be a hoon one and I should wirte about it". I repeat, BACK OFF YOU WILL NEVER WIN with logic and sense, he doesn't care about anything except selling papers |

The XR6 has got to be the safest death machine I know of. The guiliteen is not that safe.

unfortuneatly this sort of rubbish is used by the media for a fill in story and do gooders do take notice causing the government to react as it always does to minority groups,
they listen to them thinking they represent the mainstream of society. scary but proven true on many occasions.

I don't know about other states but more High Performance Commonwhores are involved with accidents in SA than XR series Falcons, even if you bring it back to Falcons and Commonwhores The ratio is higher for accident involvement with Commonwhores.
If it comes to brakes and handling, keep your car in top order peferably with the best brakes, suspension and tyres and this dicknose journalist can eat shlit. |

Where i work in perth we have a commodore wreckers yard next door i am amazed at how many crashed commodores go through there everyday, there always seems to be a truck with a crashed commodore on the back parked there, they strip it and send the shell over the road to the scrap metal yard :MrT_anim:
