Red06 .... we are leaving Sydney early in the morning on the Saturday .... hoping to arrive in Melbourne Saturday afternoon.
Yass meet point is 09:30am from memory ... so I will be leaving home around the 6-6:30am mark myself ... and I live outside the metro area on the NW side too. Are you staying in Sydney the night before???? I hope so ... otherwise you'd be buggered driving.

Come on guys, get all your friends in too!
And I think we should have a responsible lead car too.

Umm what about the guys out West, also the way you are looking at going would be a logistical nightmare with too many cars, too many traffic lights.
In order to make the cruise bigger and more user friendly, why not head down Bell St to the Tulla, then onto the Calder and Ring Rd, this way you could make a second meet point for the western suburbs at the Ring Rd Maccas. They have a more than adequate car park to fit everyone in and the only traffic lights you will see are when you get off at Kings Way which will lead you directly to Albert Park Lake. I think this way would be better as you won't be stopping at almost every set of Traffic lights to wait for those caught at the lights, plus you can actually cruise as a convoy in line along the freeway which often makes for a more dramatic look. Just a thought |

guys its a sunday??? not a monday morning peak hour traffic & its only a 20-25 min just drive from bell st maccas to the lake. so dont worry about traffic lights, lanes and traffic etc.
just go straight down st georges rd to the lake. people from both the east & west are welcome to attend to meet at maccas but going around to a road which has 4 lanes or no lights in my opinion is getting to technical just for a sunday cruise. |

I have to say the service at Bell St Macca's is very average. Avoid food from there at all costs....

Getting there...
We gotta go a direction thats fun for cruising. Stopping at traffic lights and getting stuck behind trams at 10 km/h in a single file just seems a bit boring to me. Believe me i think the Bell St, Bourke Rd, Eastern Freeway, Punt Rd to Albert park will unquestionably be best for 15+ cars staying somewhat together. The problem with St Georges straight through to the city is 1. It'll take 15 minutes (we have 1 hour) and we'll just get split up from the amount of lights and red arrows etc. So if people are majorly opposed to the route i came up with, we can look at another one, but straight down St Georges in my opinion will be pretty boring cruise wise. So are we good for the Eastern Freeway? 3 lanes, then 5, then 4 all the way there... Its a good mix of roads and freeway...

BJMXR I have no worries where we go but like Bucky I don't have an etag and probably many others also.
One thing I do suggest is most of us club followers etc have UHF radio's, really easy to keep the pack together so all get one they are pretty cheap @ Dick Smiths or Supercheap etc.....

And dont forget... no E-Tag required... i don't even have one myself. This side of the city has no tolls...
Lets just hope the sun is shining ;) How much are these UHF radios out of interest?
