Im also a Crows supporter/member, and I think this Dale twirp got what he deserved, Dale openly said he 'regularly' goes the Adelaide Airport to heckle opposition players, before this incident he was giving the Essendon players a nice 'send off' also, feel sorry for Brogan but also say he has to learn to ignore dickeads like Dale.

Dale will no doubt milk it for all its worth though which is very poor form.

One of the challenges of life, which professionals should already have achieved, is knowing how to deal with DHs and unkool situations. And the answer is not agression.
If you are physically attacked you need to defend yourself, defend not attack.
He has discredited professionals from all walks and or proved he is not one and is not mature enough to warrent being treated like one.
As for the DH lock him up.

I agree, you do something stupid you get what you deserve.

Why are we always trying to protect the stupid? If I had a go at Brogan I'd expect to get hit, so I dont have a go and I dont get hit, pretty simple.

Yeah they do. You are allowed to hit someone in self defence, if you are being assault or in defence of someone else and provocation is at least a partial defence to an assault charge, depending on the situation.

I dont think anyone is saying he should go unpunished. I think he should be. I think he should face the same legal consequences as any other bloke who hit someone. I dont think the fact that he is an AFL player should mean he cops any more than a fair punishment. Mainly BECAUSE many people lash out when they are hassled/provoked... because it is a human characteristic (albeit a bad one and not to be encouraged), then everyone should face the same punishment given the circumstances. I dont think he will get away with it at all.

No, the law defines assault and provides penalties for it, along with appropriate defences for it. And yes, the consequences are outlined in criminal law legislation. However, just hitting someone is not the definition of assault.

It is also interesting to note that what the Crows fan did, verbally abusing someone, behaving in a threatening manner, is also possibly considered assault. There is no absolute requirement for physical contact or actual bodily harm for an action to be assault.

I think it all happened pretty quickly really, and there were probably heaps of people around the area at the time (there always are when the teams leave) and it may have been hard for someone to intervene before it was too late... but yes, it is a shame that there were no security guards.

Still, while saying that Brogan deserves to face legal consequences for what he did, a part of me is still glad he did it and taught the tool a lesson.

Yes, Brogan should have ignored it. But I guess he is human, like the rest of us. Everyone is different. Some people are calm and some arent. But he will pay for it somehow. I just hope that Dale suffers too because HE doesnt deserve to get away with what he did either...

Hearing that he does this all the time makes me think even more that he is a coward.

Wasn't he also there with his family?? Just shows what good stock he comes from if a family outing is to the airport to heckle athletes. Guess I'd be pretty sad on the world though if I was inbred!!!

To be honest if the kid had a bat and smacked brogan on the head after he walked up and knocked his cap of his head he could have said it was self defence.

Where is the line drawn here?? His a AFL player a role model for the kids, They are educated to deal with anything, He was in a bad mood if someone called me a DH i would say eat me. What's the big deal a bigger man would have walked away from the little snot nose kid and simply said what a tosser this guy is he is to shet to play footy so he bags people like me that do. No Brogan couldn't do that because he has a reputation of exploding up on people.

No one has the right to hit another for name calling it's weak as, I have herd some people in the crown target aboriginals with much much worse then that.

Apparently Brogan was not at training tonight and Chocko said that its because he is sick. Reporter kept asking him about the incident but Chocko wouldnt say much about it. Reporter kept on at him and Chocko walked off, after saying (while laughing - odd) that there is no connection to the incident and the non attendance at training...

Who knows.

I reckon if I see that Dale bloke around the place, I might just deck him myself, just for the fun of it. *just kidding, relax everyone*
