Will it be called Force 8? As I was assuming the trade mark and all that for Force 6 was registered but we ended up with F6 Typhoon?

I dare say Force 8 would be an FPV product? Further to that, if it is indeed an FPV product, I'd be betting that FPV are waiting for HSV to release all details for their VE line up before dropping the Force 8 bomb.

Just what ford needed to do. Stong prominent lines, brings an aggressive front end to the car. Disapointed that the rear of the car is unchanged!

Good news to hear they are ready to counter a very competeive new car in VE... If us Blue Oval fans are in touch with reality we will understand how good VE is. We still have the better overall package though no doubt.

One has to wonder why they did not wait til now to launch the whole package as BF, the engineering upgrades and the styling upgrades.

The BF should have been BA Mk III. They had to have the new engine ready for January as it was the deadline for Euro III. They should have launched that and the upgraded Ion along with DSC etc, but saved the six speed and associated things til now. Except for the 8's of course. This BF II should be BF, the marketing effect would have been much better... But anyhow, I hope it works out, great cars just the same.

Here id the official Ford link...

Yuck - the BF Mk2 looks like a VZ! I think I'll stick with my "ugly" AUs, thank you very much. At least the Terry turbo retains it's looks.

Yeah its called an axe :(

Doesnt look to bad. The bonnet is a step backwards too AU-ish (which didnt work.). Unfortunatly (due to the high costs of doing so) the horrible roofline remains. Put a 20T block of concrete on the roof to flatten it would do wonders for its shape.

Decent upgrade though for a mid model run.

Aargh!
What did they do to the ghia?
Too much horizontal chrome! It looks like a VY/AU thing now! The front end/headlights look too fussy. Will have to wait til I see it in the flesh.
It reminds me of the Iosis concept, and hints at a very aggressive looking Orion in 08.

However its a bad pic, reminds meof the first BA futura pics that were relased, bad angle, bad lighting and having it against the white nothingness you dont get an idea of its proportions, and what itd look like on the street.

As per VY->VZ->Torana->VE, I'd say this is meant to represent a portion of the changes leading to Iosis. We've seen mention in the press before that Orion would utilise some of the themes from Iosis, particularly the front. That means that Aussie buyers need to be lead to that design. You can't just go BF-> Iosis without some intermediate changes, without scaring the buyers. Remember that the Terri was also previewed to get people used to the concept. I'd expect that we'll see a motor show car next year that gives much of the flavour of the Orion to get people used to the idea of a different design.

I wish they kept the concept design, that thing is pure sex (for an SUV).

SlickHolden - No idea, all i know is the wagon and the terri share alot of parts together.

Well they have scared me. Thank god they left the XR alone. They have gone too far with that front. The “add on” about the kit look doesn't work with this car and the front indentation is way too big. It’s just too fussy. They could have left it with one bar and the light treatment and it would have looked good.(ish)

Looking forward to seeing what they did with the XR dash.

Like the move to get the 6 speed auto across the range. Will be good to see what sort of pick this option enjoys. Blue tooth by years end is a nice addition too.

Just hold off till you see the thing in the flesh, it's not that bad. When I first saw the thing in the flesh I liked the look, even on the utes it looks good.
