When I was on the tools ( A Class Electrician) is was on $19.27 p/h and that was approx. 3 years ago. These days I go home clean, no cuts or scratches, for $27 p/h plus monthly bonuses that make it all worthwhile! Lots of stress, company vehicle also but worth it all!

Dont usually post but thought i could add to this, Im a first year sparky try your best at tafe and try and pass all your modules espically the apprenticeship ones as these are the ones that get you 6 months of school, Im still enjoying it as much as the first day i started with schooling its like alot of things half the things your learn (theory side) you will not use on the job.

Money wise im on $10.05 an hour plus $3.10 per hour site allowance and then $20 a day travelling money so its pretty good money for a 1st year grossing $735 a week with a saturday.

Good luck with your pre app and hope you find a job. What part of the industry are you looking at? Domestic, Commericial or Industrial?

Service station dude.
~$19 weekdays,~24$p/h on weekends, take home $420 a week.
Also study full time, not enough hours in a day/week.
Once I'm done i'll be on a decent wage, will vary with job, no less than $45k i'd assume right through to $95k, and it only gets better from there.

Senior Architectural Draftsperson - 13years experience

On Salary current wages it's 50k per annum but will be on 55k before end of the year. so I guess that works out to be about $24 an hour currently. Pay will increase from there. I normally do 40+ hours a week. Supposed to get 1 hour lunch but rarely take it, coz there is so much on. No overtime pay, loading, etc. Just one wage with usual benefits of sick leave, annual leave, super etc. Take home pay is about $745 per week.

Its not a fantastic wage but its a fair one for the type of work I do.

Currently on $13.67/ph working at the drycleaners. Used to earn $500-600p/w after tax but my hours are consistently getting cut back. Probably earning about $300-400 now which is quite a pay cut. I need money dammit! I just bought the WRX and need to keep it running. So hopefully will get a new job soon.

I'm currently studying a Diploma of Software Development and hopefully will be finished next year. Really keen to get into Java application development as I have picked up this language pretty quickly.

I really enjoy it and if anyone knows if a job is going where they are willing to employ a current student in Canberra let me know please. It's time to get a job that I actually like doing. I've well and truly paid my dues and it's time for me to do something else.

But I'll be coming back soon so will be a bit of adjusting to normal pay again. Ive got most of the things I want now and I could return here again, but I'll see how things go when im back.

Currently about to finish one apprenticeship as a Aircraft Maintenance Enginner, 16 an hour plus 7% shift loading. Once qualified, will go to about 18 an hour (plus 7%)

will be starting another apprenticeship soon as a electrician, $26 an hour with reviews every 6 months (will be getting 20% payrise over 2 years) plus whatever remuneration reviews is written into the AWA.

I'm stoked
