The "wild" ones are regularly seen hopping down most country streets whereas their city cousins have adapted quite well to the major city streets, roads and freeways particularly in Melbourne and Sydney. Some say they have even seen them waiting at traffic lights and pedestrian stop/walk signs:

C'mom people, be nice. If you saw some of the questions (from Europe) before the 2000 Olympic games this one is quite normal. It's kinda like us asking someone from South Africa if many people get eaten by Lions!

If any of you are coming to the FFAU Wagga All Ford Day on Nov 4th (shameless plug) you can see some just off the main highway right in the middle of town.

For GMACK24. This is not a big town by your standards. pop 57,000.

I actualy ride a Kangaroo to work instead of driving a car. There cheaper to ride then drive because petrol cost 1.40lt and grass is free for the roo to graze on.....
Oh and for you info.. We don't ride on the back of the roo, we ride in the pouch...

HAS EVERYONE WATCHED THE VIDEO ABOVE THAT GSWXA PUT UP? These are typical Americans, they know nothing about the rest of the world through their own ignorance. Just this morning a koala ate ALL the apples off the tree in my back yard, I tried to fend it off with a stick, but it bit me.....

I like the renamed Australia... My dad is from American, he has been here 25yrs and his mum still cant understand that we have different seasons here... If you think George Bush is bad, he is far more informed and smarter than the average American.

hehehe i saw that video the other day, i couldnt believe it! Ignorance and Arrogance.

You have to love the guy who says, i never knew south korea was so much smaller than north korea!

The problem is, we encourage this continued idiocy in the American generations, because we laugh and play along with the "yeah mate, i wrestle crocodiles in my spare time, have dingo spray so they dont come near me tent when im campin, i ride shotgun in a Kangaroo's pouch...". Then they think we are being serious and tell everyone back in the US that's what we do.

in all seriousness at the peak of the drought it was not uncommon to have roos within rural town centres, the poor buggers were just so thirsty.

Around Wagga depending on the area you live it isn't uncommon to see roos jumping along the road, drought has brought them closer to suburban areas...

Thats mostly on the out skirts of Wagga but, or around willians hill/red hill rd and those areas...

they roam the streets in the wee wee hours of the morning, when nobody can see them transporting their weapons of mass destruction, but don't tell your boss that.

Terrorists in Australia have been diguising themselves as kangaroos so they can hop around secure locations undetected, they hide their cameras in their pouches and eat grass to not draw attention to themseves.

The Governor General's place in Canberra -Yarralumla, is right in the centre of the city and has lot of roos. Also over the years I have seen lots of roos jumping along Canberra streets.

For Americans - Canberra IS the Capital City of Australia.

Forget about the roos, it's the drop bears that are the real problem. Vegemite behind the ears works wonders though.

All this thread show's is how ignorant and arrogant Australian's are, not American's.Think an american is narrow minded? Run a business in a small country village with a constant stream of capital city tourists!

Kangaroo's can and do wander over roads just no where near as much in the big cities. If I could be arsed, I'd drive 100m up to the top of the hill and take some photo's of Roo's and Joey's next to the road for you. They're also all over the sport's grounds and gold club which are both in 'town'.

The bloke asked a genuine question and deserved a genuine answer, not some collection of cocky smartarse quips.
