I have had a BA loaner from the dealer for 5 days while waiting to pick the AUII SR up. IT WAS CRAP. Felt heavy/sloppy, clunks in the bodywork, massive brake shudder and aquaplained all over the place. Thought I was going to buy the farm on friday night coming up through a storm on the bells line of road. The front slipped/snapped sideways twice on water - really sudden and totally unexpected. I was really worried about how mine was going to be as the BA had only done 40000ks and a newer model etc.
Picked up the car today in Sydney today and drove it home. 150k's. Went great. Little rattle in the middle of the dash (??) like 2 spanners being clinked together when going over bumps. Other than that was FANTASTIC. So much better than the BA. I was really worried but am now in a great mood. Picked up the XR6T snorkel. K&N arrives at the shop tommorrow and the oxygen sensor from ebay should be here friday. Ordering a cruise control kit from FTGAutosalvage tomorrow. Cant wait to get it all on. |

I have a squaeky rattle from the middle of the dash near the windscreen as well ... I think it's a common rattle in most AUs ... don't worry about it ... I don't hear it anymore as I am so used to it ... the GPS sits on it and blocks the sound ... hee hee.
wasn't the weather great last weekend ... I used the AWD Territory more than the ute ... much safer indeed. Cruise control is a must ... I have it in the ute and it has saved me a few times from getting fines. I used it all the time now.

Well being a complete novice to the pull out the tools brigade I was a little worried about putting these thing on the car myself
5 minutes total for Oxygen sensor, K&N air filter and XR6T snorkle. Amazingly simple. You can really hear it suck the air in the snorkle compared to the standard. Throttle response seemed much improved. Will see what the fuel consumption is like. Just waiting for the cruise kit from FTGAutosalvage to arrive. Now I'm a bit nervous about installing that I can tell you..... |
