LOL.. spinners, on a shoe! They need those old school fluro laces though. Imagine those shoes combined with the LA Lights shoes you used to be able to get, where when you walked LED's flashed in the heel. I wonder if thats what started the whole RICE phenomenon?

lmao! some great pics in there guys lol

btw the term "rice" to the best of my knowledgewas used to desrcribe people who owned cars (usually imports or of asian origin) that would make them aethsteically displeasing to most of the community while at the same time keeping their cars performance stock as a rock.

now people who go and say that fast and the furious was full rice would prolly be incorrect as most of the cars in there are fairly well tuned and have obviously spent alot of money on them instead of just putting slap dash body parts and stickers on them

sorry to be a bit of a stick in the mud but i thought i should just clear somethings up.

and btw whats wrong with clear tail lights on an AU???? they look aight IMO

*now goes off to take off the 5" rocket muffler and immitation carbon fibre GT wing from my escort, along with the monster tach and undercar neons . think i might keep the FPV sitcker and the washer LEDs on though :P*

thats always been my belief...its not so much ricey just because of the parts...but if its a stock shitter then it is......fast and the furious may have caused more and more rice on our streets...but those cars were animals.

That's the problem, what one person might describe as rice, others wouldn't.

To me, a "ricer" is a car that has been modified to be what I consider to be aethsteically displeasing, whilst still being powered by a stock engine and having no performance modifications done to it (ICE and a sub woofer are NOT performance mods) - the same definition as Andy.

Others might count all cars from the asian area of the world, and some would regard anything with 4 cylinders powering it (including cars such as the Lotus Elise ) as rice.

I know a guy with a white camry (late 90s) who plans to (or already has, I haven't been in contact with him for several months) SUPERCHARGE it.

Hrm, all that torque thru the front wheels? Why on earth would you bother?!?

lol, i think the owner of that sonata was a member on ff. lately, i've been wondering if my car is drifting towards the rice category, i.e. rims, seatcovers, floormats, lowered, etc and the only real 'performance' mod being a lukey exhaust. however, the rims and lowering improve handling, and the seat covers and floormats, well they.. : i dont know what they do, lol, i got those because they darken the interior (being predominantly black) which i prefer over the light-grey look. i guess it isnt really rice, cos in my books, thats something along the lines of a huge stupid wing that doesnt match the car and looks like its just been glued to the boot and/or random bodykit that is so impractical its criminal. and just other silly stuff like spinners. as has been brought up before, its a shady sort of topic i think, but i might invest in some headers to even up the ratio of appearance/performance a bit :P. seriously though, i lean towards the driver-comfort/satisfaction side rather than the competitive-performance side of driving, so thats probably why. then again, i want more power than a daihatsu charade but i dont need the upper-class-englishness of a bentley, and falcons present an elegant compromise between the two, at an affordable price, which im sure everyone already knows :P. anyway, ill stop getting defensive due to self-paranoia that i am a ricer now

I wanted to slap the owner of an AU I saw yesterday.
It was half silver/half a harlequin purple, had chrome rims and altezzas.
Looked like absolute shite. Tried to get a pic on my phone, but some stupid semi got in the way.

bro your car dont sound rice to me :P

floormats are practical, stops your carpet getting dirty

put a phat GT wing on it and a supercheap bodykit, smother it in go fast stickers, preferrably ones that are ment for other cars (eg TRD, RALLIART, NISMO) and stick neons wherever they can fit and as many as you can, and make sure you put a big 7"rocket muffler with a 5" tip and leave the res of the engine side alone.

then we can call you a ricer hehehehe

well, i thought about what you said, and i decided to head along that road. i went out and bought some stickers, some neons, some spinners, a wing and a tickford wing for the car, and it is now 'fully sick'. heres what i got up to this afternoon before it got dark (the wing is painted yet; i reckon it looks better that way) :

i hope you werent kidding, as i spent a lot of time driving around finding places that sold these much sought after items and a fair bit of money which was originally going to go towards performance mods; the spinners and wing cost a pretty penny. the body kit is on order and the exhaust work is booked in for tuesday of next week.

What do you guys think of carbon fibre bonnets? Personally I think they look like absolute shit. I see the point of them, but why the hell can't these idiots paint them? I laugh my *** off every time I see one. Pure **** factor.

and as for carbon bonnets, i think they look aight, just as long as its an original carbon fibre bonnet, not these hacks who just paint their boinnet black to look like one :P
