As the article in post one is a US article & the toyota models they have over there often vary from the Toyota's here I see no relivance for Aussie motorists. Keep it real.

Italian machines have always been a blast to drive or ride. Great handling, horsepower and style far superior to the aisan manufacturers. But build quality? Nah I don't think so. They leak oil (through metal!) and are expensive and tricky to fix and obtain parts for. I was reading an old 'wheels' mag about the Fiats when they were first fitted with emission controls and ran like a bucket of krap. The journo asked the fiat rep "So how will you adress this problem?" He anwered" Our buyers will write to their government and tell them how stupid these laws are and the problem will be fixed for us!"
I think if you buy Italian you have to be an enthusiast! (still much better than being a bland jap car driving cardigan wearer!)

No Asian manufacturer could boast about building better quality cars then Ferrari, because there are no Asian manufacturers in the same league. Spending $600,000 on a Ferrari, you'd want it to be pretty special and have the quality to match its price tag. It's silly to compare Ferrari to companies such as Subaru and Honda who don't have cars that are more expensive then $80,000. Since you originally compared Europe to Japan, I don’t think your comment is fair at all.

SlowUte see if you can find the Hilux's rollover rating via the US NHTSA. I'm not sure if its sold in the US but its bound to be worse than the 4runner: http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...02/139171.html. Not known as the Rollux for nothing. You'd probably be on your roof before you had a chance to have a crash!

Or to put it a kinder way (for you, not the other driver), make use of the good crash rating in preference to taking evasive action.

The NSX was regarded as better all round car than Euro supercars of the time, and certainly more reliable. You could be confident in using it as daily driver doing 500kms+ a week without a worry in the World.

I dont know where this talk of Ferrari quality came from, certainly when they start getting kms and a few years on them they can start emptying the bank account of the unfortunate owner. Lamborghinis are pretty **** poor also.
The reason you dont hear of many problems with them is because there isnt the volume out there and they simply never rack up the kms. Very few would see near 100k kms even after 20years.

fords -_=
jap cars will always be superior in effeciency,
how efficient is it for a single person to be running a huge fuel guzzling family car?
in my oppinion, fords are family cars. built for the average aussie family who need a big car to transport them and cater for their needs

100% support for Jap cars

doing up fords makes me rofl,

They only have 276hp, but its probably underrated, actually it must be underrated since they are as quick as a Ferrari 355, which has 380hp.
They have run as quick as 12.8 over the 1/4mile.

A Hyundai owner talking crap on Fords, theres a new one. What the hell has Hyundai ever made that was interesting or even good looking for that matter?
Only car worth a mention is the current model Tiburon, but its still wrong wheel drive.

No, the normal NSX would be overjoyed with a 13.5. If that.

The 12.8 was the NSX Type-S Zero. A low production numbers, special thing. Not that special.

The Type-S Zero is the only one that's as fast as a 355, the rest don't stand a hope in hell.

I find it a joke that people call the NSX "Japan's only supercar," which the GT-R Skyline absolutley destroyed them in every possible aspect of performance.

That's a steep claim. Both on reliability and superiority.

NSX was released what, 1990?

1990 Porsche 911 Turbo > 1990 Honda NSX. Period.

The Ferrari F348tb and NSX were close at the time, but that was put behind when the F348 GTB came out in 1993 and stayed that way, the Ferrari product got faster and faster, while the NSX stayed slow.
