Don’t believe me go out and do a Snatch recovery in revers in a 100 series and listen for the bag of the front diff, was talking to a guy the other day who is on his 3rd Diff in his 100 series and they all went bang wile out 4Wding.

He may Have Factory fitted Front and Rear Lockers in the 80 thou.

I would take a GQ Patrol over a Cruiser any day.
I saw this too. Can you imagine driving a car with LSD on the front axle's. You would be constantly replacing hubs, steering components. There is a toyota/nissan rivalry that is equal to the holden/ford one. So when someone comes out and says that nissans are incompetant off road vehicles and toyota's are always steaming on past broken nissans etc, you know that you have a toyota bigot. No amount of reasoning or logic or proof will change their mind. So there is no point trying. If they are happy to fork out money on something that they believe is better, let them go.

Our last trip out to boggy hole found all the patrol and troopy guys waiting for the 100 series guys to catch up. They are at a distinct disadvantage on steep rocky climbs, like driving out of river and creek beeds, with one front wheel lifting. Once that happens, its all over.

Cruiser "king off the road" I think not.... but if John Laws says its true, well there MUST be something in it..... :

The Toyjo Vs Nissan 4WD rivalry is Fierce that is true; I have driven both off-road at one stage or another and both are good 4WD’s, I personally like the Nissan better for my own reasons.

A coil cab patrol with a 6.5 Supercharged Chev diesel would be my dream off-road ride, can you say Toque :

LOL> My Off-road ride is a 98 Explorer, That I have Lightly Modified, hay it ant no patrol or cruiser, but it gets me where I want to go in comfort and it gets a-lot further than most people think they can go, it will never be a Rock crawler but I am not into that anyway.

I also like driving something a little different and have people tell me that it wont make it up there, then just say B******, and then just drive on up : .

Unfortunately I like my explorer too much to risk damage it trying too prove something, So I think my next rig will be a 1990 HJz75 Ute back (33’s, Welded rear diff and a mechanical locker up front) that I wouldn’t Give a rats if I dented it or Bogged it half way throe a water crossing, as it’s a Toyota LOL.

Cheers.
