Labour really doesnt seem all that bad considering it is a fair amount of work, not hard work but time consuming to do a good and neat job. From what i know the misc would be things like Oils, coolant and hoses and things that break and get damaged when disturbed. I would see how much to screw it together if you supply parts and things like oils and coolants and things. Roller rockers would need to be considered aswell but arent to pricey direct from Yella terra.

How much power are you actually after? As maybe the Gt40p's maybe ok for you AIMS. I made 190rwkw with worked Gt40p's and a reasonable cam, std intake and std ford headers. It all depends on what you want and how you want it to drive.

Blower ! You can take it with you when you sell....
Spend the time and $$ on tune... These blocks and detonation at these power levels don't mix...

I want the car to still be very driveable but I want to feel (and hear) the increase. I am planning to keep the car for around 5 more years so it needs to last. I have not had the car on a dyno so I don't know what it's putting out but I would say I would like a 30%+ increase in rwk's. |

being a 175kw donk, a heads and cam package will defenantly give you at a minimum 30% but you could also get that gain still using the GT40p's. You atm with exhaust prob have around the 130rw mark, Gt40p's, the right cam, pipes which you have, Roller rockers will get you up to at least 185rw to 200rw with the right tune. Thats a 40% gain in rwkw, and will also boost your torque.
I would use the money from heads and just do some 3.9 gears and 3000 stall with cam and that power will be a dream to drive.

What happens when he puts the diff gears in with the auto how can he fix the shift pattern and rev limiter at WOT.
Im looking at doing the same thing tune and diff gears 3.9s. But cant afford the cam etc its a 200kw auto R8 with exhaust only puting out 146kw. Actually cam would you be looking at and same as the rollers??. Another thing i was thinking was 3.9 and doing the convertor dunno it gets confusing. sorry for the hijack |

Thanks to everyone for their comments.
After reviewing the poll results and responses it is apparent that a lot of people favour a Supercharger. Although I also like the idea of a Supercharger providing 100kw gain, I am concerned at the longevity of the engine with this modification, there is also the 9k price point. After further discussion with Blue Oval Garage I have decided on these modifications: Now Cam Roller Rockers Edit/Tune Brake Upgrade Diff Gears Future Edelbrock Heads - If Required Edelbrock Intake - If Required Again, thanks for your comments. I'll keep you informed of the cars progress as well as posting the power results once complete. Regards Norton |

Don't know about the cam, the car is on gas so it will be a cam that suits the gas setup. I will be taking the advise of the fitter but I want to give the car the biggest cam available without sacrificing it's driveability (or idle). Gas Research recommend a cam made by Voodoo Cams, they are specific to gas and are said to work very well in this application. Can anyone recommend a cam to use with a gas application? Regards Norton |
