I have just emailed, It is on ebay and I would think it is either 1) a bid at auction and the heading of "classified ad price" is a mistake, 2)an ex partner selling at a ridiculous price for revenge!!, or 3)the sale of the century (today I saw an XY 500, 6 cyl for sale for $12000)

Joined yesterday, nil feed back, and don't you think there would be more info about the car to entice buyers, ie; engine, reg etc.
And if it was legit don't you think the owner would know it was an XC.

The old saying applies: If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is.

Lesson learnt for an old fella then, I will wait for a couple of more posts in a thread before jumping the gun next time.

How good is this!

XA Fairmont GS
351 2v K Code
T bar
Wild Violet
White Trim

Would look awesome with some fresh paint. $30k is a little rich but what a combination!

Agree with this, $30K is a bit pricey. It does look pretty well unmolested which is a good thing. As long as the rust isn't too bad it could be a good pickup for the low $20K range.

By the time you tidy it up and do the body & engine bay it'll cost plenty.

There was one on carsales around 6 months ago in WA. For $36K that one was the same colour with Gold GS stripe, Saddle trim and no vinyl roof. It was a 351 and looked to be in pristine condition. It was on the market for a while and started at $40K.

I did notice this car a few days ago, i tend to look out for many things xa style. Even if you picked her up for 20, it could cost well over 10k for a spray job, not including the rust in it and one may spend over 60k for it by the time its finished....

The only thing I noticed wrong was that it had 6K tacho?
I thought all V8's & especially K codes would have 7K tacho's?
Can anyone shine some light on that.

Cheers
Todd.

I don't think the 6k tacho is incorrect. I could be wrong though lol

No hard and fast rules about tachos. GT tachos could be 7 or 8.

I like tacos!

I've only seen 6k tacho's on 6's, 7k on the 8's and
8k tacho's on a couple of XA's. They are very rare though.

Got to love reading posts from people who have no clue.

RPO's all had the 7k tacho from factory and the XY tacho wouldnt even fit in the XA cluster without major modifications..
Ones in a seperate guage pod can typa thing and the other shares the plastic housing with the speedo.
