I left 10 years before you. aged 27 and yes I can see myself in that group, actually have an uncle buried very close to that hall. I was very fortunate that my dad owned his own business and made a point of every school holidays we would travel to a stop and get to know the area, instead of this quick hop out grab some photos on the Instamatic and off to the next place.

Yeah been inside you can't stand far enough away to get the B52 all in the one shot, they had a raised viewing platform in one corner that gave the best view, is that still there?

You have cracked my secret code. Now Dan Darstadley will know, and be there taking photos to pass on to our dreaded enemies. But, we get used to seeing them on that (un-named) road to Medowie, and hearing them nearly every day, so the local novelty has now worn off. I was at RAAF Richmond ('69 or '70) when a USAF F111 flew in for an air-show. We were not allowed within 50 metres of it, all very secret squirrel, but on the day of the air-show, anybody and everybody civilian could get up close and take photos of whatever they liked. |

One of my favorite Camellia's in full flower.
I always love seeing these in flower, my Grandma had a garden full of Camellia's and so they are always a reminder of her for me.

Talking to some locals they are loving the lack of cruise boats they have there community back and it's laid back lifestyle, they said internal tourism has made up the dollars lost, not sure how long that will last tho.
