One of my clients must have an enemy.
This is the third attack. Must say it's really disheartening to see something you have nurtured for over 15 years being ruined by some thoughtless bastard.

Just make sure the fuel cap on the tank of your whipper never works loose and leaks.
Ask me how I know...

Going to check on this. That said, whoever is doing this is also vandalising neighboring properties also.

Did some mulching as an add on to one of my clients usual Friday mow.
The tarp helps allow the shovel to slide along the bottom of the tray smoothly, helps to avoid spilling mulch on the ground and makes clean up at the end a simple task of gathering the tarp up and emptying into the barrow. Oh, and keeps my ute clean too

I think they should rename "weed killer", green plant killer.
I am always amazed that some people think glypho knows the difference between weeds and valued plants.

I have almost a full yard full of grass except for a little patch that needs to fill in a bit so I have to hold back mowing until it does.
Quite the contrast to a couple of months ago though when it was basically dirt. Hate pulling it out of the garden beds though. |

Doing some gardening for one of my clients today included training these jasmine walls.
I love using Star Jasmine for this as it gives height without width, a common driveway requirement.

I take the whole blade carrier off, replace the blade sets and then re-attach. I replace blades with whatever the mower shop has in stock when they become worn, no sharpening between replacements.

Just finished this little garden bed renovation at one of my clients.
Most of the plants used were already on site, the Clivia being divisions and the Hellebores transplanted from self seeded plants from an existing bed. Customer elated with the results makes the satisfaction even greater.

Is that bee hive as wonky as it looks?

.Thanks for the info DFB FGXR6... I never thought of the Makita impact driver .. I do have one so I'll give it a burl next time although with winter coming on it might not be needed too soon. All my mowers , three pushies and the ride on are 'well bladed' at the minute but I will store this in the memory banks til next blade change ..My knuckles will thank you.

It does look a little unsteady. The bee hive is not my responsibility and despite being quite confident working around an active bee hive, I'm not going to push my luck trying to move it!

Spent some time cleaning air filters on various machines this afternoon.
The Stihl blowers have a wire filter in the muffler that I used to have to clean almost fortnightly. These block with carbon and prevent the engine from revving, the best way to unblock them is to remove it from the muffler, scrape it against a wire brush and then refit. Since using synthetic oil though, I haven't needed to clean them at all, and have been only had to inspect them on occasion. This Stihl oil is pretty expensive for what it is, but the time saved by not having to unblock muffler screens makes it worth it. It also produces far less smoke than regular 2-stroke oil too.

Interesting about the oil. We've got a bit of genuine stuff somewhere in the fuel cabinet I'll give it a go next time I do a mix. We've gone the opposite with our chainsaw bar lube with a thicker mineral based oil. The genuine synthetic oil is thinner and leaks from the galleries and you end up with a big puddle when left on the shelf or in the tractor bucket. The cheapy mineral stuff is much cleaner to work with.

Yes spark arrestor, I always remove them. Very little chance of me setting fire to anything.
Last time I was in a Sthil shop I bought a 5 litre bottle of synthetic 2/ oil and a bulk spool of whipper cord. Just over $200 bucks

2 strokes you have to rev them skywards. They run rich otherwise. I have the crappiest snipper known to man, but it runs great. Nothing more then decent fuel and a decent pre mix. Same deal with my pos chainsaw. 2 stroke, decent pre mix, rev it to the moon and it loves it. Best not to let 2 stroke gear sit idling for prolonged periods. Same token, if they dont do the bluish smoke, check your fuel mix. I dont mix tanks when i fill my 2 stroke stuff. I have 2 fuel cans. The maths works out easier that way. A 5L jerry of 98, and a 5L jerry of 2% pre mix with 98.

Daisy (blue kelpie) is quite literally a six and a half year old puppy ..she's a lovable but lunatic mutt if ever there was..sooky when I growl , then five minutes later at it again .. Missy the medium coat black and white border collie is ten and a bit and has arthritis now in the back from a terrible fall when she was nearly three. By the time she was six the arthritis was kicking in . She has regular Cenovin shots to keep it in check . In January she had a grade2 of 5 grading nasty tumor removed from her knee and she has a couple of lipomas as well but she's getting around a bit now. A couple of kilometres walk quite slowly is manageable...Mower brings in some stored energy and movement though..Geez...she's actually the ring leader...Old bugger..
