Police have charged a young man for murder of missing person Samantha Murphy.
Funny how they got a result days after getting phone dumps from phone towers in the area. As my Mrs said, pretty sad when a woman can't do things she likes without some sicko attacking you.

Handed in my last two remaining firearms, they have a buy back on in WA.
No more fox and bunny shooting for me. Got over $700 and a guy paid $300 for my ammo, go towards my daughters upcoming wedding. I had a huge collection, mostly collectible and vintage, slowly over 24 months sold them off through a 3rd party on consignment so I don't have drop kicks at my door. Anyway, all gone now, bitter sweet knowing my family don't have to do it when I kark it.

Great car and truck show this morning, I've never been to (Swanpool motor festival) and back before the heat kicks in.

Got five-and-a-quarter hours of basically uninterrupted sleep. Been copping too many sub four hours lately, so this was great. Feel less tired, but more relaxed.

Thirty minute later I felt the need, I stood at side of path, casually unzipped and let the little mate have his full glorious relief. Twenty seconds later, zipped up all done. My partner exclaimed- it is so unfair, you have it so easy. Got me thinking- I go bushwalking alone remote. Go camping alone for 4 days remote alone. Go road cycling remote at 11.00 pm remote, and one night had a dubious car ghost and then pull up aside me asking me really strange questions - was off- and I snapped back while cycling hard and they eyeballed me and saw I was not some passive small person- and that I was edgy (had an eye on pulling off left off road and going beast defence as there was no light, nothing, in the bush, all up to me). Don't get me wrong, as a guy you can still be taken out- but at least in my case, being 6 foot and 90 kgs fit with little fat, there will hopefully be blood, and not just mine. But if you are a 5 foot 50 kg female- yeah- who said life was fair. I could not bear the thought of not doing what I like when I want- alone and remote, because I was a small physical stature and of a sex that predators wanted to violate.

Arrived in ballarat yesterday in prep for the red hot summer tour today. Went for a walk with my daughter to stretch the legs and look around a bit. She was keen to check out a club called volta. Went past and there was a band playing. Checked out their Facebook page and it turns out rose tattoo was playing there, with a support band.
She was keen to go, so we went along for a couple of hours and checked them out. Funny looking at a bunch of old farts up on the stage belting out some good aussie rock. Angry is 76! He should be rocking out a walking frame But if was good spending some time with my girl and, surprisingly for me, she actually quite enjoyed it.

I work next door to one of the best motoring museums in the country, so there is always something going on out in the carpark at work. Sometimes it's cars and coffee, club runs, cruise nights................lots of tasty metal passes by my "office". Sometimes it's the usual 70's Aussie muscle cars, maybe a tasty Aston Martin V8 Vantage, right through the downright oddball cars from the past, think Model T Ford's or Studebakers.
Today was bit different, and a first for the complex. I rocked up to a filling carpark, with the museum's own car park cordoned off. Settling into work for the morning, the scream of engines and tyres woke me from my morning haze. Turns out they were hosting a gymkhana for the morning. The first car sound was obvious, a 90's WRX sedan, you can't mistake that throbby growl. A gorgeous 1965 Mustang in red sounded as good as you would expect. A host of late model turbo 6 BMW M3's and M2's, the distinctive howl and exhaust pop again unmistakable. Less pleasing, but no less interesting, the buzz-saw like turbo V8 BMW, I hate those engines. But the most distinctive? The most spin chilling and easily the loudest of all the cars thrashing their way around the makeshift course? A sound that I have burned into my brain, a sound like no other car past or present. That sound echoing across the lake and into my ears being that of a naturally aspirated flat 6 revving to 9000 rpm, a Porsche 911 GT3. This is the first time I have heard one in person, and it's as bloody good in person as the countless Youtube clips I have listened to online. The sound is so crisp, so pure, the way it screams and yet howls at the same time. There is none of the muffler theatrics like the BMW's, or the bassy fluff that the Subaru or V8 Mustang had. I probably like V8's more than any other engine layout, but there is something truly special about a highly tuned 6-cylinder, especially of the inline and flat variety. Obviously not from today, but I just had to indulge that sound again............. Apart from the 65 Mustang, all of these were by ear, I knew each and every sound without even poking my head out the window to look, the GT3 the most obvious.

Well, talking to my young bloke. He works at maccas. Anyhow, with the the system outage yesterday he was on shift and whilst the place was closed, well time to lean is time to clean so the deep clean happened. He did apply for a job at the kfc next door but he got rejected (that was their words). Well, kfc had an outage when the maccas was closed. They ran out of chips. I shouldn't laugh, but i find that funny for a multitude of reasons.
Also i do commend my young fellows ethics as he did not partake in the tomfoolery of other staff in the play area when the doors were shut. Pretty sure in the employment contract it says horseplay is not permitted. |

Next house sit where the van actually gets to park in a garage, just as the storms arrive.
