Default Re: What made you feel good today?

back early February I purchased another S/H 6x4 trailer, it need a bit of welding done so a trip to the engineering worshop at the local prison. Good bunch of guys.

Anyway last Friday I get a letter invoice asking for payment through sharedservices SA not Service SA

the following is my email reply to their letter/invoice/statement

dear who ever,

congratulations on showing true wisdom. care and intelligence that we have come to expect from government departments.

30/04/2024
you posted an invoice to me.
Inv xxxxx changed for privacy
Cust. ID xxxxxxx

how am I supposed to pay this on line? no details, no nothing.

I did try your ph line this morning at 9:05am I was told I was 2nd in line but after waiting 30 minutes I gavr up. i left my name & number bit 2 hours layer i guess that got lost in the frenetic business that public servants create for themselves.

I came to the conclusion that....
1. you were all in extended staff meeting.
2. Somehow rostered days off all fell together (today).
3. Coffee was more important than your clients.
4. being public servants you just couldn't really care, somebody will get to this sometime.

it is also interesting to note the invoice date for a job done in February.

So if it's not too much trouble could you please provide details on how I am supposed to pay this online.
I am not waiting in line on phone calls to pay, Id sgudder to yhink what would happen to my card details, nor do Service SA accept payments to you.

I will keep you informed of their reply or of a visit from Mr plod

Proving a will had been altered, contesting the 2 years past probate and winning.

I did that years ago. In the interim legal fee's are very steep, but the outcome more then covered that.

In my case i won.

Anyhows i got my etag statement today and there were 3 charges with added no tag fees for trips i did not make. So anyhows, with linkt the option is their virtual chat thing which typically is a massive pain in the hole. Anyhows i got put onto a person, got asked my etag account info, dones that then said my plates were white writing on black plates. Got told the photos will be reviewed thinking this would take up my afternoon. Nah, 30 seconds later they came back saying the interpretation of the photos was wrong and i will be reimbursed in 24 hours. So that wasnt as painful as i was expecting. Another win for having old school number plates.

Went to repco yesterday. The older gentleman who is there parts interpreter wasn't in. Thats fine, people are entiltled to a day off. Anyhows, the young bloke was too busy chatting to another young bloke about the trials of getting parts for that blokes eunos 30x. Anyhows, once my go came around, the system said one in stock, but there was not. Ok, whatever. Normally the person would say they'd order one in or whatever. Nope, the young dude at the parts desk gave me directions to auto one. So thats where i went. Well, the bloke at auto one said none in store but 15 at the warehouse. But, i gave my number as he said they will get it in around 12 on monday (today). Got the text at a few minutes after 9am saying its in. So even with the 2 trips to auto one, it took less time then one trip to repco. Absolutely no idea why the young repco dude sent me to the competition. Im guessing he knows they do a better job. $10 cheaper for the part too.

Depends on the urgency of your part, most likely the young fella thought he was doing you a favour of acquiring the part quicker by going to another store, has happened to me many times by various stores.
Cheers

Maybe, but i did say to the dude it was a spare as i used my spare the day before. So if i had to wait a few days for something to come in then that would be acceptable in this instance. I guess he just works there. One would think he would look at the computer and tell me another repco that had stock listed. But no, directions to the competitor instead.

I'm in Cairns as we speak.

Daughter finally found out yesterday that her flight to Wagga leaves tomorrow morning, so at least we get a chance to spend a day and a bit with her before she departs.

I’ve mentioned it before, but wow this keeps on giving. La Costeña “Chipotles en Adobo”. A fantastic, smoky hot chilli rush that has you saying “MORE!!!”. I baulked a little at the price for a small jar initially, but no regrets now.

One quarter teaspoon on a plate of food is enough to enjoy the effect; too much and there’s a real risk of… hmm, a suddenly urgent mission with concomitant afterburn, shall we say?

You talked me into it, will give it try, and when I get back off leave, I will suggest it to a workmate who is chilli fanatic, He will test it as to what amount is tolerable.

It’s at Colesworths, think around $6 for the bottle. Hope you enjoy the stuff!

I like a variety of chilli products, each has a place. Even the Aldi pickled Jalapeños are great value for a savoury buzz. Lingham’s original is another favourite for colour and its (very sweet) piquant flavour but like Tabasco, oxidises fast once opened. Zhug is an acquired taste but the medium (red) one is plenty hot - great for Middle Eastern Tucker. You can get it at Rishon Foods, but I think Balaclava’s across town for you.

New Auto Addiction video. Mostly pre-WW2 cars fanging it around the ‘ring.

There’s a bloke giving a well-sorted Bugatti an absolute hiding. Superb driver to see among others good - but not at the same level - in these glimpses. Very different track vibe to Goodwood.

I put that s#@t on everything!

I buy the big tin with whole peppers from local deli. I open it and stick blend the contents. Divide blended chillies into jars and freeze until required.

Oskar my South African Mastiff, has been mothering me more & more, when judging me in need of help with my coming & going back issues.
For the last yr or so now, when i'm getting up from doing stuff at ground level, he's taken to pushing under my mid section & helping raise me up & allowing me to steady myself while pushing up off his back.
Last couple of weeks when getting out of my recliner, he's dived out of his bed to steady me there as well when i look a little unstable. PFFFT! who needs people! lol

Yeah, I saw it a long time ago myself. I did a search for "insane hill climb" on Youtube, and scrolled through the initial vids, to find it.
Glad it made your day fella, cheers,
