Press Back. Then make a copy the text that you typed before trying to submit it again. If it fails the next time you can save the copied text to Notes or Notepad and paste it into the form after you’ve sorted your connection issue.

I hate that some people seem to think that a time given is a suggestion.

"I leave at 4.30, I'll be here at 4 to do a prestart and I leave at 4.30."

Gates are opening, phone rings, "I slept in can you wait 10 mins?"

So grumbling like you know what, "I'll give you 15 mins then I'm leaving".
Made a coffee then I left at 4.45am, alone.

Morons per kilometer yesterday wasn't too bad going up but bloody hell what a difference 4 hours makes, coming back from Bundy they had hit a new high, making it one long trip back.

Yep. Can relate to your their Brother.

One of my faults in life is being punctual. If I know I'm going to be 5 mins late... 15 mins before I get there, I will make a phone call to let that person know. Just common courtesy.

Absolutely hate it when someone says "I'll be there in xxx" and 20 - 45 mins later that person shows up without a care in the world, no remorse, no apology.

My guess is people like that were perhaps 'dragged up' ... not 'brought up'.

Cheers,

One Mad Man

...when I'm doing an oil change in the driveway, and expecting a delivery from Ebay.Finished doing the oil around 5.30pm.Still no delivery. 'Shut up shop' and call it day, jump on this thing (laptop)to find a message from Ebay:telling me it's been delivered. Like Major WTAF here.Have people become that reluctant to interact these days or what?Could it possibly have led to a chat that might have taken 25 seconds out of 'your' run time? Yes.I give in. Not a fan of how Technology is making people more and more anti social.Seems to me like the only people that are still "normal" are: (to name a few)
  • Other fellow truck drivers
  • Storeman that receive what I'm delivering
  • Checkout chicks
  • People at the bank
  • Shop assistants
etc etc etc.Lets not forget to mention the guys at the lower end of the food chain. Centrelink recipients.A homeless guy pushing a shopping trolley the other day at the shops for example, I say G'day, then he proceed to have a chat with me for a few minutes. Didn't ask me for anything, smokes, bus fare, booze etc. He was just happy to have some 'face time' with another human being.Cheers,One gregarious Mad Man

So there is a redemption offer for an extra battery for the drill kit i got my son today.
Man alive is that a process. Way more difficult then it should be. He was willing to give up, as was I. But putting our heads together we persisted. 1st hurdle was, the internet side gets to a point and no further on a phone. We tried both his and mine. But computer it works. Invoice number. Well the receipt has that but doesnt say that directly and also has a bunch of other numbers on it. I googled what it was asking for and yeah found it. But you have to delete any - or # or spaces which i found out after much frustration. Then there was the upload a digital copy of the invoice. This was partially dumb luck. Normally when the cashier asks if i want a digital receipt i dont bother, but as i had told my son to keep the paper receipt in case of warrenty i said yes to that. So i had that but in a message on my phone. My son being the not a idiot he is, suggested i copy and paste in my phone and email it to myself then its on the computer. Great idea. Dones that and did the upload to the form. It was a png file, form needed a jpeg or a pdf. I wasnt angry just a bit aggitated. Once again wonder boy had a good suggestion. Open it in ms paint and convert to jpeg. That wasnt a good suggestion, that was the solution. Everything then went through and who knows how long it will take to arrive but he has a 3rd makita 18v 5ah battery coming his way.

I do understand why companys do this for redemption stuff, its so people give up and they give away less stuff for free. If it was just me id have given up. My son would have too. But 2 heads have different ideas and got the result after only maybe 40 minutes of bottling up rage. He got the confirmation email so it did go through.

Checkout numpties.

I went into Supercrap, they have a “$10 per 4 cans” offer on their house brand degreaser. Pick up a shrink wrapped dozen cans and take to the counter…
Young woman proceeds to bill me 12x $3.99… So I pull her up and she turns to the bloke orking cows beside her. Colleague attempts to deny the online price offer exists. He then realised I wasn’t buying the schtick and offered to refund me the difference in cash. I countered, you can put the difference on my account as credit. No, he insisted it had to be refunded as cash.

I presume this small amount is “lost” in the float balancing as opposed to having to book a staff member’s error as the reason for a receipt alteration.

That's the clue that he didn't know how to credit your account, and/or didn't know the procedure for funds reversal. Ask me how I know this...................

lol, I tried a few times with mistakes like yours where I asked for refund in cash, get told every time "no must go back on card" which is a fair call.

Waiting over three months for two replacement Victa parts that are only offered by one online retailer. Except they don't stock said parts but suck you in and keep your money the whole time. I'd say that over half of their listings are of parts that are NLA, but they don't delete them, so they get the website hit but give false hope.

My daughter who lives up north ordered me a sun shade for my car on click and collect from Repco and my son picked it up and gave it to me at Christmas because she wasn't going to be here.
Anyway, it was a large so I went back to swap it for a medium.
Not that simple, he has to refund her card for the returned item then I had to buy the exchanged item. "Hold up" says me "You mean I have to buy my own Christmas present?" he just laughed and said yep.

Gas giant Santos will pay just under $20,000 in penalties for its role in an oil spill off Western Australia's Pilbara coastline.

About 25,000 litres of oil condensate was released into the Indian Ocean when one of the company's flexible oil pipelines ruptured off the Pilbara coast in March 2022.

At a hearing in Karratha on Monday, Magistrate Robert Young found the company breached the WA Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982, handing Santos a $10,000 fine and ordering it to pay court costs of $9,700.

It is the first time a company has been fined under section 97(4) of the act, which states licensees "shall prevent the waste or escape of petroleum" and carries a maximum penalty of $50,000 for corporations.

what a pathetic load of horse shit. Santos would pay that amount from petty cash.
WA's Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) what a mindless toothless F tiger

Consider yourself extremely lucky that it didn't let go while in operation!

What model machine is it, backing plates are usually pretty easy to get.

Yes, very thankful it didnt let go in use!

Its an older one. XC 3401 VRG - bought through Waxit over 10 years ago. Tried Flex-tools.com.au but they dont import that machine, so dont have spares.

Have just sent Waxit an email - will see what they say

A few of the detail supply places sell 4.4” plates, but this is 5.5”. I have 6.5” pads. Will try and replace with same size - otherwise i may give the smaller one a go with 5.5” pads.

I have to be honest, i dont use it a lot as i am paranoid about taking too much paint off or stuffing it up

When driving in the hills and get held up by the 'lycra' pack of people that have no consideration for someone that actually pays to use the roads.

having to drive at 4 - 8 kms an hour for 20+ mins and wait for them to pull over to allow the my truck to safely pass using the 1 metre rule / law, which I think is totally ok.

Cheers,

One considerate Mad Man

I suppose you want them to either disappear or ride on the leaves.

Reminds me of inconsiderate truck drivers...

Waxit don't sell the Flex brand anymore, but hopefully they can point you in the right direction.

I did find the following though -

Fact 1: They had ample opportunities to let me by, and failed to do so.
Fact 2: You weren't there, and you my friend, know NOTHING about my mad truck driving skillz, and MY consideration for other road users, whether it be in a car, truck, motorbike, gopher, zimmer frame etc.
For example, I always use the slow vehicle lane whenever possible. Do YOU?
Fact 3: I wish to add my vote for disappearing.

Onya Ford71.

Out of interest we do have law where you can be fined for driving slowly, it is called "obstruction to other drivers by driving slower than the posted speed limit" I think it is up to the discretion of the police as to how they enforce it.

My father is an ex-road racer, even he calls that sort of behavior idiotic. I knew a guy who was killed riding his bike like that, was only 21-years old. I'm not saying bike riders don't deserve to be on the road, but at some point, certain riders need to let go of the entitlement use some common sense.

In a previous life I had a kids water cannon mounted in front of a ute and a squirt with that plus 5 tone airhorns up their clacker changed riders attitudes

Couldn't agree with you more.

The way these people ride on hilly roads is just lunacy.

Here's a snippet of what I am talking about.

They knew I was there. Just ZERO FSCKS given. The Tour Down Under "red mist' setting in perhaps?

Just makes me wonder why they think the 'big bad truck drivers' are always to blame when a cyclist becomes a statistic.
Nil common sense shown here.

Over and out,

One Mad Man

It’s that creeping politics of division again. Road users need to see themselves as one team. Not a battle of teams.

If I start to build up a “convoy” with the car trailer, I’ll put my left blinker on at a safe location - legal or not - slow down and keep driving to the left so far as I can safely see where my wheels will be running.

For all the other road users know, I might be slowing to a stop with a mechanical problem, so it’s not like they’re recklessly overtaking. Nearly all motorists and motorcyclists can take the hint - everyone carries on happily thereafter! I’m surprised that it’s uncommon for cycling groups to have officers (for want of any better word) to use their experience and usher other traffic past safely.
