Every Ford Falcon design from the XK onwards right up until the BA has been heavily influenced by American and European Fords. I cant understand why everyone is so shocked that the next Falcon looks so similar to other global Fords.

What European or American Fords influenced the designs of the EA, EF, AU, BA or FG?

Granted, after that, designs were all Australian. But, going back, even the XB (especially in coupe form) was SOOOO similar to the Mustang, it's not funny. No biggie though, Ford IS an American company.

That car is soooooo ugly. At least we made them look and perform better. In that respect we can we claim them as our own.

The way I see it is that shortly after the new model is released and this thread has run it's course,
there's going to be an awful lot of very bored AFF members wandering around in here.

What's the difference? Why are some saying that the Falcon looks too much like other Fords? It's been this way at various stages for more than 50 years.

FG Falcon BA Falcon AU Falcon (not a Taurus, because it doesn't look like one) and then maybe my point will be received

I don't know why everyone is having such a field day over it... Since the first Falcon rolled down the line, they have looked like the rest of the world... More recently...

There isn't one that match those. But these are designs of the past 16 years. Falcon history goes back more than 50 where our Australian designs borrowed heavily from both US and Euro designs. The point being is that the FH being similar in the frontal and rear treatment is nothing new.

Pricing is all that matters now, and what spec it comes with. For the love of all that is holy, there had better be dual zone climate control in every model. That this is an option in any car these days is ridiculous.
I think both the teaser pics look tremendous, the Mustang bonnet especially pants bulging. I've always thought the Mondeo/Fusion was a good looking car, so I'm totally on board with those 'global car' features making their way onto the last ever Falcon. C'mon Ford, I'm buying something with four doors and lotsa horsepower at Xmas, sell me on an XR8 over an SSV. I'm halfway there on looks and badge preference anyway, don't hide all the fruit in a luxury pack or some other piece of nonsense (BFII XR6 with premium everything owner here). Woah, this is my first post apparently. Thou I had a few under my belt. Must be the other ford forum |

Some Ford Falcon/Territory uglier cousins: Weird XD/EA Mashup: Ba/Bf: Uglier territory: Aussies do American things better than the Americans themselves in other areas too. Anyone ever compared american KFC to australian KFC, american Doritos to Australian Doritos, Hungry Jacks vs American Burger King. There is just no comparison, the american equivalents are that bad. It is a pity that Ford Aus is the one to get the axe instead. Only exception is probably Ford Mustang... |

So far I'm liking what I see, the front despite the Fusion/Mondeo/Mustang cues, really does look like a menacing Falcon bird of prey!

Imagine how beautiful the global Ford products would be, if they were all deigned and built here in Australia. |

PS. If they dont make the FH XR8 in red ill probably wont bother getting one.
What was also crazy is the GTF didnt come in red either.

Well that's more like the old Taurus rear end than the AU was lol. Not a fan. Ask me again in 4 years.
