This snippet is essentially how hundreds of thousands were taught - myself included. The only power tools being a corded drill and planer.
The expectation was, you should be able to hang eight doors in a day, excluding architraving. That includes cutting and assembling the jambs, packing and fixing them squarely into the opening (whether brick or wood), fitting and hanging the door, and fitting the lockset. If a door was slightly warped or twisted, you humoured it - not threw away. Clearance at the top was set with a pair of 20¢ coins. |

Deffinately not the worst problem to have. But weekdays ever since my son got his big fish tank, from 3pm to 10pm its machine gun messages of everything tropical freshwater fish, and tank related stuff. Weekends its 7am to midnight, with usually a window. This weekend there was a 3 hour window yesterday, and im almost at the end of a 3 hour window today. Thats because he's at work.
As a parent im very happy that a fish tank is what he is into. Way better then ice or herogroin that where he lives others are really into, and the improper ways people go about 'supporting' that. Man, he is a good young fellow. |

When picking up a pallet of wine today (NO, I don't drink) I saw these cute little fluffies. That made me feel good today.
Crap quality.. shot through the windscreen of the truck... at 4 O'clock, so glare was an issue, but you get the idea. One Man

Haven't been in a good headspace recently. Been trying to see it through, but went and saw the GP today, who put some plans into action. Didn't walk out feeling top of the world, but there was suddenly a feeling that things were going to get better.

It's over for another year.........................
The last tree went into a pot yesterday at 11.30am, the last tree lifted into stock 4.15pm today. For context, we are talking about 2000+ trees here. My joints and back are aching, so tired I slept through my alarm this morning. So yes, I feel good about having this behind me, but my mind and body aren't feeling good. Only another 10 months and I'll be doing it all again.

Listening to the isolated bassline for Staying Alive. It’s so economical, yet so efficient an underpinning for an iconic tune that at once mixed together braggadocio, make-believe and the basic appeal of happy emotions.

This was the same client how backed me into a corner mid-2020 grilling me over the prices I was charging. All the while standing next to his just-completed multi-million-dollar mansion with marble Greek goddess statues and hand applied gold-leaf pillars. It would seem it's ok to work (extremely) hard and earn my way, but not to earn too much from him. I left a few months later after 15 years with them. Not his vehicle, he never drives it anyway, but the same colour. One of my current clients has a 2017 model, the V8S instead of the lovely W12. He had to replace the battery on it recently, no one locally would do the job and he had to take it to Melbourne for the dealer to do it.................at more the $1000 fitted. I guess if you can afford to buy one, you in theory should be able to afford servicing one too.

When I was looking into replacing the battery on the Jaguar, I ended up leaving it to the dealer. Researching about it, I found a two-page procedure that dealers follow to do it correctly and avoid immobilizing the car. None of that on a Falcon.

Another Sandown "500" has come and gone and I didn't watch it. I hear the paying spectators were short changed again because the race was stopped before full distance. Can't wait for the venue to be demolished and turned into high density dog-boxes so I can bury all that emotional energy I wasted on that garbage.
N.B. I attended many races between 1982 and 2018
