Wednesday/Thursday and I'm hoping FX4 Max but doubt they'll be available this early, so most likely V6 XLT.

I am undecided on model and engine yet, will wait for final specs and pricing. Hopefully my dealer contacts me soon with some more info as well. Fingers crosses the prices are not ridiculous.

Thanks guys, I’m pretty keen to get the ball rolling but still would like to have a drive of the V6 before ordering.
Im assuming the dealers will grab everything Ford can make so hopefully the wait won’t be too painful. |

youtube has the Thai release pricing at 1869000 baht, or $75k aud.
Will be interesting to see what Ford think we'll be willing to pay. |

The current model Raptor is 1699000 baht over there, so the new model is 10% more.

Interestingly the Thai's don't get the option of the V6 TD. Only single and bi-turbo ecoblue's. Might have something to do with their taxes on vehicles with engines bigger than a certain size. |

Majority of the pop can't afford 4wheels let alone a V6. King Vajiralongkorn’s incorporation of the huge wealth of the crown estate into his own personal fortune and the transfer of army units over to his sole control caused outrage. He has amassed a personal fortune of $40bn while the minimum wage for Thai workers is $5 a day. One of the demands of the protesters is to limit the amount of public money being used to fund his lifestyle. Why do you think manufacturing is kicking on there, like china before cheap cheap cheap labour. A Ranger V6 would have such low sales wouldn't be worth getting them to showroom floors.

The 6400 GCM is a major advantage over anything on the market in this segment. Well done Ford, you may well have just captured the majority of the market for those who are caravaners. This is a BIG deal.

Very unfortunate though that there is no V6 available for the XLT Supercab.

Am I reading right, the single cab low rider is no longer going to be available?
If that's correct, then it looks like my next ute will be a Hilux.

Currently, around 90% of Ranger sales are 4x4s and I’d recon that around 70% of all sales are 4x4 crew cab Utes.
I’m thinking that limiting the V6 to 4x4 crew cabs is how Ford will manage South Africa V6 engine production (21k/yr) |

The bulletin makes for interesting reading. The specs of the Raptor sound pretty good except for not having the cargo management system in the tub. I think I might wander down to the dealer tomorrow and place an order on a Raptor. |

Is that because they raptor has a spray in bed lining verses a drop unit with the internal grooves for the cargo mgmt system to use.?

Yeah it's a spray in liner so I would assume so. It doesn't have the tie down rails or rear steps either. No big deal though really. I think the engine and suspension more than make up for that. Plus it doesn't have the fugly front grille/bumper of the other models.

I agree but both those things would be really nice to have. As I would also use it for dirt bikes, So the tie down rails for the bikes and gear and the step to get in and out of the bed would be most useful. I did speak to some rear bar providers at the Brisbane 4x4 show last week and they said the rear step isn't on the raptor due to the exhaust placement on the petrol raptor but they would be working on after market options for it. |

Has anyone been given a date for when prices will be out? My dealer told me 7th April.
I got a call yesterday to confirm the model, colour and options so that is can be locked for first lot of allocations. Once prices are out I decide if I want to go ahead or not. If not and I want to alter than apparently it goes into next month's allocations. Such a bizarre process.

It says in the bulletin that "there are tie downs in the mounted in the bed of pick-up models (including with spray-in bedliner)." Whether these are just like the current Ranger, I don't know. |

My guess on prices drive away no packs:
XLT v6 68k Sport v6 72k Wildtrak v6 78k Raptor 96k Dealers are not happy Ford didn’t release pricing as they need to spec cars based on customers requirements with out giving them pricing. Given every order is subject to price dealers may get stuck with combos that aren’t popular / people don’t want. Colours lock out on the first lot on the 29th… prices a week later. Ford really couldn’t organise a chook raffle…

Current price for a PX3 XLT with the BiTurbo is approx $68k drive away in WA, so if the new model V6 is close to that it would mean that Ford have "reduced" prices. With regards to the process of ordering, this is exactly the conversation I had with my dealer, I found it hard to undersand why the process is soo convoluded. I got the call on Thursday midday to confirm my order, I stayed with what I originally selected when I put down a holding deposit (Sport BiTurbo in Meteor Grey). The only option I could pick was a Touring Pack, which includes brake controller, 360 camera system, external surround lighting. Needed to confirm what I wanted with out knowking prices, yet my choice will be largly determined by price at the end of the day. I was also told I could change colour up until 29th. Orders for first allocations needs to be in the systems by 30th of this month and cars are locken in for production. Prices out on 7th April and if I am not happy there is no obligation to proceed and I my loose my slot for the first month allocation (car will still get built). I can than spec up a diffrent model if I still want to go ahead and will be given priority for the following months allocations. Such a bizzar way to do it. Anyway I am hoping Ford don't price these stupid and I can be back in a new Ford after a few years away from the brand.

I got my phone call to confirm my spec. I have stuck with what I originally said (Sport V6D in Meteor Grey) but after reading the Car Expert link, Im seriously considering going "all in" on a Wildtrack with the Premium Pack in the same colour... Irritating that Ford needs us to confirm the specs for orders without a damn price...
My dealer has said I have time (not much) to decide if I want to change the model so Im taking the weekend to think about whether I change to the Wildtrack w/premium pack....

SO, further to my previous post, Ive just come off the phone from my dealer... Final Spec (Still pending Pricing) is now:
Wildtrak V6D with Premium Pack in Sedona Orange Decided to go something other than Grey/Silver/White and I already have an Orange SSVR in the garage. Still no pricing, but he seems to think June Delivery is a possibility for mine (dont know where he got that date from, or if it will eventuate). Im not too bothered about it, Im in a position where waiting until then isnt a bother...
