I think Fev was refering to the small US car that donated its 2 litre OHC engine to the AUS Escort - the Pinto....

A Holden sc V6 in a Cobra?

Do I really need to say what's wrong with that?

i thought the idea of a kitcar was to build it how you wanted? not how some keyboard warrior who isnt paying for it wants it...

maybe the builder wanted something that didnt turn it into a lead tipped arrow, or wanted smooth modern reliability? or some semblance of fuel economy?

not everyone wants the fastest car on the road. the s/c V6's are what 170-180 kw's? still go pretty hard in a small car like that i reckon.

hell, maybe he just likes holdens? but wanted the look of an old schooler?

its not what i would build but i certainly see no fail. each to their own.

Interesting that with a post like that you think you can call anyone a keyboard warrior.

It is fail due to the fact that there are many other engines out there that are more powerful, easier to get parts for, lighter and more economical. The Holden V6 s/c has not a lot going for it compared to even other V6's.

I am not sure you can engineer either in a cobra kit anymore. At least not easily.

I know they have been done. I was looking into them a while a back and from memory the engine had to be engineered by the year 199x to be able to be registered else it had to meet some pretty strict requirements. I think this is why they use boss engines and the like now. I could be wrong. This was also NSW.

*edit* here is a thread on it: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...7&page=1&pp=25
