No, during VE they decontented the cars and removed glovebox lights, expandable door pockets, scrivets under the bonnet, the plastic $10 radiator shroud... list goes on..

The rear of the new Falcon is horrible, it doesn't match the car at all. They would have been better off leaving the FG rear end.

The front on the other hand is spot on.

The rear reminds me of the AU controversy lol.

Sorry mate I disagree.

The new rear end rocks !

It suits the front end brilliantly once you see the whole car.

FGII looks ancient.

The rear end makes me feel uncomfortable but I guess we should wait until passing judgement completely.
I must admit I'm looking forward to seeing the new car (XR especially) in poor light. A mate has a current model A4 and those LEDs look amazing at night, as does the new Mondeo/Fusion.

The rear hasn't impressed me like the front end. Im a bit meh about it, but I do like how it reminds me of an audi a4. I need to see the whole thing to see if it balances out well with the front and sides. All these pics aren't doing the rear end any justice tbh.

Love it all, Ford had a limited budget and to give the car a look that's as different as they have is awesome. They have done a great job of the rear with no need to change the rear quarters as the tail light change has been done by changing the rear bumper and not the rear guard, saving money. Top job Ford, you have given us a very different last Falcon and it is going out with a bang.

A lot of extreme reactions in both directions based on a couple of photos. Wait and see. If the Ford lads that have seen the car say it looks great, hold judgement until we see the complete product in the flesh.

As a yardstick, every newly Jag has looked breath-taking in real life, even compared to some very classy photos, so this could be shaping up the same way.

I'd reckon the front on shots of the ute are distorting and magnifying the front end sheet metal a bit, as the sense of perspective is missing. As for the rear, changing the aspect ratio would do wonders - and help the 3D effect.

Ever tried to capture a beautiful object on your phone and failed miserably? (puts hand up)

Odds on, it's a knockout - even in XT form.......

The more I look at these spy pics, the more I become a fan. And I was already pretty excited. Looking "like a Jag" is among the greatest compliment any car could receive in recent years, too. Even the more hilarious 'looks like a Lancer" comments are pretty bizarre, as the Lancer is not an ugly car either (reminds me of the silly 'looks like a Mazda' comments the VF received at launch, when the new Mazda's are stunning cars in the flesh).

I've gone from being keen and interested to zealously F5ing the Ford page waiting on a price reveal. The things I'd do and the people I'd do them to for <$150/kw pricing,

Also, is that a sheathed sedan in Seduce (best colour evaaaaaa) in one of those spy pics?

If NIKKED pic is correct I prefer FG rear.
Pleased with the inclusion of paddle shift tho.
Would've been great on a F6 :(
If I get a V8 xr8 it will be manual.

edit. blackout/colour the chrome plastic strip between tail lights & pic improves

still too mondeo tho

That's the one missing feature that I was holding off from buying a VF for, since they're in the US edition. Apparently the series II's will have them (or the HSV range will).

I see the carsguide article mentions them for the XR range. Fantastic news, holy ****.
