Changing my car rego period, so I only have to pay for a 3 month period at a time rather than 12 months in advance.

Great idea if you are reaching the point when you are not sure how much longer you might be keeping your current vechicle.

I'm a fan of the new (in WA) 3 month regos
It allowed me to stagger the new cars due date against the other four I need to pay. Two in a month makes for no pocket money for the Cortina project

Agree. But the new $100 increase for all vehicles per year sucks. That's $900 a year extra for me for SFA

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Picked up one of these today.

A modern incarnation of the classic Victa Toe cutter fitted with the legendary Victa 160cc Two-Stroke. These engines are equivalent of the Ford Barra inline six in the world of lawn mowers. Like the Barra, they can trace their origins back a very long way, are indestructible, simple to repair and incredibly reliable. Like the Barra, its time has also come and is now no longer in production due to emissions. Bahh, what's wrong with a smokey Victa

My grandfather had a Victa Mustang (great name ) for many many years. This new Victa smells and sounds exactly the same. Whenever I hear one of these engines it makes me remember cutting the lawn with my Pa as a young kid so I suppose it was a sentimental as much as a business purchase. Much like my XR8, its a end of the line type of thing that I just wanted to have before they become a thing of the past. And that made me feel good today!

I got my High Risk Work licence (Forklift licence) today. This should make it a lot easier to get more hours at work and should mean I can start making some good money. I've wanted to get my forklift licence for a while and now I have accomplished that goal. It's a good feeling.

Made myself to go to my ex-wife's funeral yesterday, her brothers, sisters and some of her relatives that I had not seen for many years were lovely and made me feel very welcome. Now glad I made the effort.

I had to order it from my local Victa dealer. They are a commercial type thing that are often not stocked by dealers. Mostly used by local councils due to their light weight. RRP was $699 for the 2-Stroke but they are also available with a Briggs and Stratton or Honda (yuk) engine as well. I had a trade in so didn't pay the RRP. My neighbour had a 60's toecutter and I used to watch him through the window mowing his lawn with the thing, revving its guts out and throwing lawn clippings all over the road.

Had it out today. So light and nimble and no catcher to empty

I stink of 2-stroke (they burn 25:1) but who cares.

(Sorry for the info-overload................. I'm a lawn mower tragic )

My mum called me up because her phone wouldn't connect to the wifi. So I ran her through the steps and it still didn't connect. Mind you it was an hour long phone call. Thinking the standard old people thing, I went over there and sure enough yeah the password and network was correct but it just wouldn't play. My phone connected fine and so did mums computer, her phone connected to mine when I set mine to hot spot. It was weird. I know her phone is only a few weeks old and is current because I bought it for her, so this is where the definition of insanity proves itself wrong. I did the same thing again and again and after enough tries it worked. I'm not sure how or why but option 3 was not the one I wanted to advise because that option was take the receipt and claim warranty. I dont want my mum to see what I paid. But she was over the moon that everything is up and running and during creating and consuming a lovely dinner she carried on about all the things most already know about what phones can do, but hey, I made her day.

Two things today, firstly out & about in my AU i spotted a superb mint condition yellow XB GT coupe with elderly owners driving it which i thought was really sweet.

Then a bit later on my travels i narrowly avoided a head on with some sort of work ute on the New England Hwy with old mate crossed on to my side of the road, phew i was lucky & happy my reflexes were in tip top shape lol!

Old mate stuck the hand up & said sorry after it happened, but jeeze you'd think he'd be a bit more attentive while out on the hwy hey..

cheers, Maka

Ha! I did the same thing....... except without the footy.

Perfect weather, sun out and no wind. I love spending an hour or two detailing a car with time on my side. Its relaxing in a way many wouldn't understand.

This might sound a bit odd but I had a TIA and a stroke 3 years ago and since then I have been quite crook. Most of the stuff has been a result of that stroke.
I have been undergoing a million tests to eliminate some things and actually pinpoint what they can do. Today I got a phone call from the Professor Dr who told me that with an operation they can fix the vast majority of the problems! I was so happy I nearly cried and believe me, for someone who's pushing 70 that's pretty big. I have been so ****ed off that I haven't been able to do the things that I like doing and shortly my mk1 GT Cortina will even finally get the love it deserves.

Well today I fell on my feet. So I wont get into specifics but there was some financial stress going on, but I checked my balance and I've received a deposit that covers what I have been losing sleep over. I'm in a good mood seeing that, I'm like a cat.

Spotted a yellow XY GT today being driven by a young girl on L plates.

Now you could say that is a pretty hairy chested car for a learner to piloting. On the other hand that young driver is being taught drive the car free from modern car distractions and convenience features. Being taught to drive and respect a car.

That said, a braver man than me to entrust such a valuable and revered car to the hands of an L plate driver.
