My pet hate for the day:
Drama Queens who turn any minor inconvenience or issue into the biggest problem imaginable, blowing it up out of all proportion by making huge leaps of assumption. While I'm at it: Overbearing, pushy and elitist parents who think that just because they drive a flash car and live in a big house, their opinion is the only one that matters and it gives them the right to sweep in and take charge of whatever event is being organised, be it a simple trading table to raise funds or the volunteers jobs list at the school concert. Of coarse, in all of these situations they make sure they give themselves the plum jobs where they don't have to actually do a whole lot or get their hands dirty.

Ok, my pet hates: Post-modern ideology, social constructivism, the Greens, socialism and people who go barefoot in public!!! Can't people afford footwear? Why, oh why must we look at hairy scabby feet with overgrown toe nails in public? I can see the trail of tinea and black plague left on the deck as those bereft of shoes walk casually by, oblivious to the spit, dog poo, booger germs accumulating and multiplying in vast numbers between their toes and on their cracked heels… soooo gross!!!!!

Companies, or I should say, personnel that won't answer call's, refuse to call back after contact, then lose contracts and orders.
Oh! while I'm whinging, please have the same bloody person deal with the transaction that was originally there when the $5,000 order was placed and paid for 3 weeks ago so I don't have to continuously repeat the order. Should not be this hard.... Either they want the business or they don't........ yes I know, bex and lie down time for Poppa.

If I remember rightly the ad went something like "take Vincents with confidence for quick three way relief"

I was trying too join a site that allows free downloading of ring tones.
you had to create a user name and password. It didn't give any instructions as to the nature of the password, I ended up trying ae4587nBv2?ejm but the site said the password was too weak! I had to include the underscore before it considered the password strong! I know it is not a real issue, but really? who on here would have guessed my original password? |

finally ran out of time and had to get on the roof to remove the gutter that was hanging by a thread.
here's a pic from the car which I had to move, although the car was sitting more horizontal than the pic! 42 degrees and I'm climbing on the roof... Last edited by thefargo; 22-10-2016 at 08:24 PM. |

Pet hate for today....
MORONS who either deliberately or through sheer stupidity mislead you when trying to make a deal. Todays case. I found a guy on Gumtree who said he had permapine posts to get rid of cheap. I called him to confirm the availability and price and made it VERY clear I needed posts at 2.1m minimum for the job I needed them for. "yep, yep, no worries, got all sorts of lengths, we'll just pull out the ones you need." says the moron. So today in 40c+ heat, pulling a trailer, I drive nearly 700km up into some obscure rural block in the Adelaide hills to go see him first, only to discover, when I get there, that every post is just a 1.8m paddock fence post . So I basically drove 100km out of my way for nothing and wasted not only the fuel getting there but the 2 extra hours that I could have been getting all the other stuff I needed in Adelaide today. The old AU wagon shone today though I must say . Left home at 2am this morning and got home at 9.15pm tonight. It pulled my 7'x5' gated box trailer 1400km today in this 40+ heat and on the homeward leg the trailer was carrying 5 packs of steel star droppers,10x 2.1m galve fence posts, a 30m roll of chook wire, a 400m roll of barb wire, 2 x 3mx2m cyclone wired gates and about 10m of plastic dipped cyclone fencing, oh, and a couple of post hole diggers. It did it at the speed limit with the A/C going flat out and didn't miss a beat. I was so proud of it today I might even give it a bath tomorrow.

Greetings to all. I have a b**ch / rant which could be construed as a geez I hate that so bare with me.
Yesterday started out OK. got up, had a cuppa and toast and headed off into the city to get my money from the Credit Union to go pay my bills, had the iPod connected so as to enjoy my singing and got a park directly out the front of the CU. Disconnect iPod go in and get money from CU and re enter car. Connect the iPod and head to the bank to pay a bill. The Heavens shone bright because I got a parking spot directly out the front of the bank. Disconnect iPod, enter bank, wait 30 seconds for a Teller and complete my transaction. Guy, (Irish backpacker) standing next to me bumps me as he goes, apologises and continues. I finish, exit the bank, go to car, enter and my iPod is gone from my Backpack. I scour the car and nothing. Go back into the bank and ask if anyone has handed an iPod in - no nothing. Had a think and remembered the Irish guy. I asked the bank if they could check to see if it was taken from my bag by him, not now but at some stage. They looked at me weird and then said the security cameras aren't working and haven't been for a while. My response, well I guess you would not want the criminal element of Darwin to know that would you. The bank was care free in their attitude and said go to the cops. My iPod was just a little 5th Gen 16Gb Nano but it had music on it dating back to the 20's and 30's. Forward a couple of hours and I get a call from a Police Officer about a hit and run involving my car a few weeks back. They have spoken to the female owner of the vehicle who gave them the name of the supposed male driver. On speaking with him he said he was not driving and gave the name of another female. Police then spoke with her and she denies even being there. A Toyota Troop Carrier with 11 adults and 7 children (countrymen) reverses 55metres into the side of my XR6 and drives off. Police say that because everyone has done the right thing and given the names of supposed drivers and they cannot prove who was driving, nothing can be done and I'm pi**ed off. Finally, my health is not good at the moment. Was due to have surgery last month but it was postponed as they wanted a Cardiologist to check if my heart was strong enough. Had a stress test but because of a muck up I cannot get the results till early February and I'm rescheduled for surgery early January. Of course I could have minor surgery on my heart to allow the other surgery to go ahead but it will knock out my kidneys and I will be on Dialysis forever. On a brighter note I get to spend Christmas day with my two daughters and three Grand Daughters so wahooooooo. Cheers Vincenzo

Time wasters: Got up at 5 am Tuesday to win the bidding for a 98 EL Falcon on eBay. Won it at a good price: "Great, I've always wanted an EL".
Made multiple attempts to contact the seller (5 eBay messages in 2 days, then when that failed to provide a response, requested his contact details from eBay). Turns out the phone number on file was disconnected. "Oh, looks like I'm not getting an EL after all and have wasted 2 days of car-searching time". I assume he was either a scammer or unhappy with the final result of the auction - either way I was ready to stomp the "seller's" balls into a Pâté for wasting my time. Looks like I'm not getting a car before the weekend. Geez, I bloody hate that. Avoid "samking007" on ebay.

bloody Telstra........I'm on the "do not call" register and yet I got a call from some feller whom I barely understood about signing up for Foxtel.
Given that I watch, maybe, an hour of the idiot box a week I politely said no thanks, I was not happy as I am run off my feet at this time of year with the phone ringing hot and customers left right and centre all wanting their gear done yesterday. so anyhoo!.....I'm busy as a one legged rooster in a battery hen enclosure again this morning, phone ringing off the hook when I take another call...... "Hello" said the automated message, "this is Telstra calling, you recently received a phone call from a Telstra consultant and we wish to do a short survey about this call!" not only do they ignore the "do not call" but they are too bloody lazy to put an actual human on to do it............... then I had to walk an extra 30 feet to pick the phone back up after I threw it in the corner of the shed......

Unfortunately even if your on the DO NOT CALL register your Telco, charities and the Government can still cold call you. Annoying as **** I know especially when your a shift worker trying to sleep and some clown rings to ask if you want some stupid upgrade. P*****S me off to no end, I find it hard enough to sleep during the day as it is.

Second fix "T" nail in the finger......don't like that much.
note to self......"self don't put your finger behind the frame of the cabinet you are assembling then fire a 21/4" nail into that frame!" ...(1" of which entered my index finger and stubbornly stuck my finger to said carcass)

Owwwwie, reading poppa's post made me cringe! Take care of that finger!!
Ok my add: drivers who don't get out of the way of emergency vehicles (ambulances, fire trucks, police). Come on people, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY WHEN YOU SEE THOSE LIGHTS AND HEAR THE SIRENS, THERE'S AN EMERGENCY! I see too many idiots who think they can get through another light or don't even bother clearing a lane for these vehicles to safely pass. I bet if it were their family member who needed the emergency services they'd be having a tantrum knowing other drivers weren't moving. They have lights and sirens for a reason. Oh and to add to this: the same idiots who follow right behind an ambulance so they can get ahead of the other cars who pulled over. |

When you're sitting at a red arrow, in the outer turning lane, with a Pajero next to you, so they know you're there. Then, when the arrow turns green, you go, are mostly around the corner, and suddenly there's a 4WD trying to get into your tub from the side.
I wouldn't have cared so much if he wasn't an abusive twat and tried to blame me for his inability to drive in one lane. Merry Christmas to me hey.

Good thing I've got two weeks off to sort it all out *sigh*.
It's not like I had plans of using the ute to clean out the house and take stuff to the tip or anything I see this as sign I should be lazy this fortnight. Bonus is an independent witness, who is a bus driver that was behind us in the turning lane. Top bloke, flagged us down, thrust his details on us and told me to tell my insurer to call him. Faith in humanity restored!

I had this in another thread but I thought I'd put it here as it really is a pet hate..
People who are too stupid or ignorant to adjust their headlights down when they load up their vehicle, usually a 4x4, or hook up a trailer, boat, caravan, and then blithely chug on up the highway and then can't figure out why they keep getting flashed by oncoming traffic because " I'm not doing anything wrong dear, I'm already on low beam" WAKE UP!!, you muppet, you're blinding people. It takes 30 seconds to pop the bonnet and wind the adjuster down a turn or two, and you should have done it when you did your pre-trip check...... oh wait, you probably didn't do that either did you. Bushbasher

Another I hate that from my accident
Insurance rang yesterday to inform me something "didn't add up about my story". google maps only shows one turning lane on that intersection. So they didn't believe me. It's a shame google maps is out of date, and I now had to take pictures to prove it's two lanes. Not that the eye witness hasn't said the same thing. Bloody insurance companies.
