It all started because some people weren't happy with the rear of the new Falcon - before they have seen any proper official photos. AND, when it is not an offensive design regardless of whether someone likes it or not. Who needs enemies when you have your own so called fans damning the product before it's released. I hope those that have canned the rear will be man enough to admit that they like it in the future (if they do)...just like some here who are commenting now, bagged the FG when it was released - and now they have one 6 years later

No, this thread is not all about arguing about why one person can't comprehend that other people do not share their views. It's to discuss the car and share pictures.
Moving on. I have the warning stick out and ready.

Well, that's really sealed the deal for me... that rear end is terrible. It just looks wrong and tacky.

The rear is growing on me (slightly), but the incandescent globe usage in 2014 isn't.

The way people are banging on about the rear end blows my mind. Of course everyone has an opinion but people are making it sound like a Ssangyong Stavic. Tacky is way off the mark to describe it, especially if you use that word correctly.

That centre stoplight really belongs in nothing newer than an EF. Hope it isn't carried across the range again. Couldnt they just dig out NL fairlane LED stop lights from the back shed and use them instead just for the last time?

I don't understand Ford's logic here. They release some slick looking front end images of the top models, plenty of positive press, now they send out an undisguised base model and a modest G6E model with temp plates hanging out of the boot to show off the rear. If they wanted to stir up interest, why not have an XR8 doing the rounds with less and less camo, preferably in a bright colour. What started as almost universal acclaim for the front end is turning into majority let down over the rear end because every photo we've seen has been taken on a camera phone from an awkward angle of a boring model. Come on Ford. Sure people are talking, but a lot of them aren't saying nice things and a first impression is hard to shake for a lot of people.

I was driving behind the G6E today and the description of the rear (in my opinion) is classy. It does look like it's from an up market car.
Probably the photos don't do the rear end of the Falcon justice. Keep your eyes peeled for a Kinetic Blue XR6T,it looks great! |
