I was never a big beer connoisseur till I went on a boys weekend to Melbourne. Stumbled across Beer Deluxe.................I am now hooked.

2 Aussie beers I really love are Stone and Wood Pacific ale and Bridge Road Brewers Beechworth Pale. I drank my fair share of those 2 that night.

Little Creatures is a nice pale as is the Coopers product. Coopers is a little harsher than the rest in my opinion.

How good is it now that Guinness comes in six packs, and it's pretty much the same price as a 4 pack was.. What's that? A Brewer looking after their customers? Nah couldn't be..

haha, there's a story in there:

...."My wife's bitter" because I was having a "fat yak" with the "three troupers" whilst she was waiting in the car. When I got back I received "one fifty lashes".....

Grand Ridge Brewery does some nice stuff, I tried their "Moonshine" beer, its quite nice.

http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/grand-r...onshine/12074/

I also like Holgate Brewery's "Temptress".

Probably a bit gay for you guys though LOL.

Little Creatures Pale and Coopers pale are completely different.

Coopers pale is an English pale ale. Fairly subtle.

LC Pale is an American pale - far more hoppy and floral. Far, far, FAR superior.

Another excellent pale is Sierra Nevada. Bang for buck, excellent.

Living in Alice Springs for 4 months has squashed my boutique beer quest. Can't wait to return to QLD. Had to throw out my 30+ bottle collection when I moved :(. Time to start again.

Anyway Superdry's for now

Never bought Sierra, didn't quite trust it when I could get LC or Mountain Goat.

Will need to give it a go

Has anyone else heard of the Tap King that Lion is release soon?

It's basically a 3.2L plastic beer bottle that lies on it side in the fridge and has a beer tap on it to pour.
My wife was given one through her work to try out and it's a pretty handy thing to have. We're getting through the James Squire Chancer Ale at the moment. So far, the only downside I can see is that they recommend chilling the beer for 9 hours prior to drinking, so you've got to plan in advance should you want to use it.

I'm hoping that they expand the beer portfolio over time to include other beers they brew.

It's supposed to be released to the public in about 15 days time. It would be nice to know how much the beer costs too!

Just had a go of this:

The name of this beer reminded me of this thread. Its almost more like a porter than a brown ale with a lot of coffee flavors coming through. Highly delicious.

Couldn't believe Dan Murphies last week. In the cool room sat a pallet of VB and next to it a pallet of Crownies. Sign above VBs $42.95. Above Crown $36.95. Should of snapped a shot as I can't see that happening again.

First Choice has limited quantities of Coors (for now). I thought it was pretty good, it's from Canada and it seems like most North American beers are a good drink.

Does anybody know if Extra Dry Platinum is still made.
Asked about it at 1 bottle shop and was told by the women working there that it is no longer being made.
I see it for sale 2 weeks later at a different, much larger bottle shop, so I buy some and ask the bloke working there if he knows anything about it. He says he sees it pass by his register every now and then, but not sure if it is still made or not.

Last time I went to the pub I had James Squire Hop Thief. That was nice. I don't drink much beer, it makes me feeel sick these days. Too many sessions as a youngster getting way too ****ed and very sick. These days I just have 1 or 2 and prefer a spirit or a cider.
