I think they have a process where they load a bunch of ballots into a counting machine, then the results are stored on a USB. The operator takes the USB and loads it into some sort of aggregator that tallies up the counts.

They would have various sanity checks such as the number of people who showed up to vote vs the number of votes tallied etc.

Small errors wouldn't matter much with big margins, but would matter with close margins, hence the process to recount when the results are tight

Actually I think the term used was "memory card" or "memory storage". I haven't read too much into it, just heard it on the news in the morning. I think it had something to with the scanned data not being uploaded into the counting software. I highly doubt it would be on a traditional USB stick

but who knows

I don't think the issue is data privacy, it didn't go AWOL, it just didn't get loaded. This basically allows team Trump to ask "how many more of these are there?". Restart the election

all Trump is doing with the 'fraud' narrative is denigrating the whole election process in the USA, there is no truth to his claims as has been proven by the over 20 court cases he has lost, add to that their version of our AEC has come out and said there was nothing wrong with the election process including the counting

Apparently the software used to count the ballots - Dominion Voting Systems which is used in the states with mail in problems - can be altered.

If it is possible for legal votes to be thrown out, it would be confirmation that ballots can be subject to manipulation via changes in the software.

So depending upon your political allegiances, he was either asking him to throw out legal ballots or he was asking if legal votes can be manipulated.

Lots and lots and lots of affidavits from "citizens" claiming fraud, but you can only see 8, because the rest are so scared of being threatened. So apparently the media is now no longer able to use "without evidence" in their articles.
