Now I will clarify - I'm not talking about the daily commuter cyclist, or the regular road rider that's usually kitted up in safety gear, flashing lights etc. This is more of the "casual cyclist" I'm aiming this at. This is not the first time I've seen it, but today is the first time I've seen someone get pulled up for it.

This morning, a cyclist (well, more a bogan on 2 wheel pedal pusher than a cyclist as such) was pedalling along at 20km/h in the left lane of a multi-lane road. No helmet, in thongs & shorts, holding a mobile phone to his ear. Each red light he'd ride perilously up between cars with one hand on the handlebars, wobbling away, then across the crossing (against the don't walk sign) and then proceed onto the road once more - only to have all those cars have to go around him yet again, before the next red light, then repeat.

At the 3rd red light, we caught up to him - in the left lane, where a motorbike cop had pulled him up. As we went past, all I could hear was "F-you bloody copper pig, I'm on an F-ing pushbike, I can talk on the f-ing phone & you can't do f-ing nuffin"

Surely most people would realise if you can't talk on a hand-held phone on a motorbike, or in a car on the road, then the same would apply to a pushbike? He would still get done for no helmet, but that would be a pittance (not sure on points - if there's any) compared to the fine for a phone.
I know the type. I see a few stopping in at the Bull n Bush in the arvo. Lost their licence for drink driving & ride a kids bike to with the fluro work shirt. Not knocking the fluro shirts, I have a lovely selection of green & orange with all manner of filth embedded in them, but if I did my slip, I'd walk or get PT. I wonder if the copper did him for wreckless riding & the helmet. I believe a push bike rider can be fined for both of those. Anybody?

Here's a question - can the pushbike rider be breath tested if they're riding on a public road? And would DUI laws apply? On a motorbike they would, and a drunk cyclist presents a serious danger not only to themself, but others on the road who have to avoid them.

Its still helps the rest to make the combined 5kgs i guess.
Complete tangent but i buy baby potatoes and fry them up with diced bacon and minced garlic. Its an epic side dish.

There is a newish law in NSW that requires all cyclist to carry some form of ID now, which they will also be fined without it.

Never had helmet laws when I was a kid, but then there wasn't any cars during the 70's oil crisis.

Even worse when the local bobby comes around for a cup of tea and waiting till you get home.. He says nothing...just smiles and says 'see you later'....then dad rips into you and confiscates keys and licence....never did like that officer, but to see him clear a 6' fence chasing a yobbo one day was impressive.

Why are zooper doopers $6 at the supermarket? They are cordial packed in tubes by machine, transported and stored in the shop without refrigeration, and are non perishable.

Why is it that the search function of this forum is so bad?

Why is it that every morning around 4am this forum refuses to load? Everything else on my phone that requires the internet works perfectly, even other tabs in the same browser, just not this forum.

Either hands/arms flailing around, or from personal experience when I had an offset head-on in a BAII, the column collapses enough into the dash to force the wiper & headlight wands toward the driver - in my case holding on the high beam, and running the washer motor and wipers continually. The washer bottle was AWOL, so the motor started squealing because it was running dry. The fuel cut killed the motor, but the wash/wipe didn't stop until I turned off the key.

Why is it that a half-decent looking girl on the train can pick something out of her ear, examine it at length and flick it onto the floor but I can't do the same with my nose?

Probably because you're not touching a mucous membrane when you pull something out of your ear. Same reason you can touch the outside of your nose and everyone is ok, but not the inside because that's gross.

Side note - the half-decent looking girl part doesn't really make any sense to me. If it makes sense to you it's probably because you subconsciously (maybe consciously?) give them a pass for behaviour that you wouldn't give an ugly girl.

Why is it that the manufacturers of yogurt containers insist on putting ridges in the bottom which makes it nigh on impossible to get the last bits of yogurt out?
