Seems there is a crash every month for whatever reason. Would be nice to hold out till a crash happens and invest that time but i cannot get myself to closely monitor the price movements if I am not invested

Last big crash was 6th of feb btw. Prices visited similar depths.

I use etoro but only for crypto as it is easier to buy in.

It is a good service with good charts, forum/support but the high spreads sometimes at 6-8% can kill minute trading so you have to trade on 30min+ charts looking for 10%+ swings holding for 5-7 days min at a time - i find running 2 sets of bands and a Fibonacci gives a pretty good read and just wait for the candles to close outside the bands to buy/sell on.

Geez good sale on crypto at the moment...Bitcoin down to 11k, Ethereum under 1k and Litecoin around $200!

Good time to stack up before it goes back up again...

It always does, question how long it takes i think the recent freefall was triggered by two things:

-Massive sellout of bitcoins from mt gox legacy to reimburse creditors/investors
-massive FUD in relation to attempts to regulate/tax cryptos in the US

Reminds me of horse racing fanatics. We have plenty at Work who always have big ‘wins’ because they don’t report the losses.

Funny that horse racing is so lucrative yet they still come to work each day, and not one Ferrari in the car park!

Sure there’s the odd person or two who gets rich off it but they’re in such small minority.

Questions for those playing with crypto currency - how did it feel quitting work because you’re rolling in money? And what colour is your Ferrari?

Hey thanks for your feedback so it is not a bad place at all. What is the other set of bands you use? I assume you use Bollinger bands with candles maybe with rsi / stoch?

I use two sets of Bollingers set to different values - one set for a buy indicator and one for a sell indicator along with a stoch pop and drop.

As crypto has a rough 7-10 day cycle i set one lot of bands up for 8days, 1.3dev, selling on a closing candle outside the top band.

The other set up to 8days, 0.8dev, buying on a closing candle outside the lower band.

I will do this sporadically depending on my ability to monitor 30min/1hr charts for a several days/week at a time but you can set it up to give you the same read on any time frame - just need to study it prior/trial + error.

Like i was saying earlier it is hard to do on Etoro for the shorter time frames 15min charts and less due to the larger spreads they use - the longer time frames/charts negate that and you dont have to spend every waking minute monitoring sentiment.

By no means fool proof but has been working well on crypto since Nov2017 - i am at about 900% since then but of course 60% of that was xrp in dec17 as i bought low.

I see XRP probably now going to test feb18 lows, if it pushes through that then it may be back down to 0.20-0.25 before bouncing.

Not advice - just my strategy.

I had a look on Wednesday, if i hadn't of got out when i did in December i would have lost 1800% of the profit i cashed out on.

The coins I have left are up 200% but that is just play money now and Monday was the first time I looked at it in 6 weeks. I think it will recover fine over time. I'm 80% of my portfolio left in VEN, I plan to not touch it for another 2 years regardless of what it goes up to or comes down to.

I am watching ripple still. I bought some at $3.91 AUD on the way down so it will be a long time before that comes back. I did however buy some more at $0.80 AUD. It went down but now $1.07...

Everyhing is coming back. Ether spent 2 weeks around 500 aud but now 730. Altcoins had a great week but chances are that we are not yet done with the fall of bitcoin despite the recent rally to a lower high the downtrend of btc is not over and if btc $hits itself it has a potential to drag everything down. I am much more optimistic now than a few weeks ago despite a lot of my coins show a bad balance but we are getting there, back in business

Looks like things are progressing steadily with crypto for the moment. Some alts are doing very well over the last couple of weeks...be interesting to see whether bitcoin can go past its all time over the next 6 months or so

I bought my ripple at around $1 - $1.10 and I for the past few months I swore if it got back up over a $1 I would sell it and walk away but now that it has I've decided to HODL!

Bitcoin cash and Litecoin are going to have to jump substantially before I can cash that out.

Downside is that now it is subscription model for new customers but you might still backorder via resellers the lifetime model.

I think we slowly get out of the bear market but bitcoin might have a trick to play on us before..

I read an article yesterday that said that 12 months ago bitcoin accounted for about 80% of crypto trading. Today is 38%. Bitcoin , I think, will be gone in 5 years. Maybe less.

a year ago there was maybe 5 coins people cared about, now there's 1500+* sh*tcoins/tokens/ICO scams/forks/splits/exchange currencies etc. bitcoin will still be here in 5 years, 99% of those scamcoins won't be.

the top 10 coins make up 80% of the market, the other 20% is scraps
