So you are gonna buy one and put the plates on it? And if it doesn't make 335 then tune it so it does?

True, didn't think of this... Maybe FG X is the most befitting, least they didn't call it FG III

Lol, I guess I have no option! If it 'only' makes 315kw as I read in only one article, vs the dozens with 335kw, then I will look at it, but only because I have OCD tendencies!

that's the point, it's NOT a new model... and even on that point, not even close to what was initially intended.

BF wasn't a new model either, it was a freshen up of BA, and it got a new insignia.

BF was a significant update mechanically, but yes, on the surface, didn't look like much of a change, but that is not the reason for a model code change. |

They should have called it Falcon FG GTR P1 911 Type - R Spec Fully sick Tech 2014
FGX is final nothing can do about it people. Ford Australia don't listen to real falcon owners only "key falcon owners". And then we wonder why its being terminated.

A few reasons.
First being speculation based on a press release from Ford on the GT-F where they announced something along the lines of the engine was brought forward from the XR8 program. As has since been mentioned the ideal "FGX XR8" combination is astronomical in comparison. And third if I can't have XR8 351 is the next best thing(even better if speculation is correct).

Can it only change model code if it increases its Euro emission rating as with BA/BF? or crash test rating?

Visually to customers it is a new model, it looks nothing like an FG even if under the skin there are next to no differences which puzzles me why they named it FGX.

Can't comprehend how they haven't given the xr8 a real exhaust tip. Small thing but it's imo it's an ugly trademark.

The XR8 has 4 real exhaust tips, it's the G6 that doesn't have one...

Only real gripe and I know it's picky but why Ford do you still use the same exhaust tip on the XR6 that was introduced on the BA back in 2002...12 years ago???
The XR6 and Turbo should get the same dual exhaust holes in the rear diffuser and have larger single tips like the SV6.

Not really sold on the name or the car yet, i wanted to like this car but unless it grabs me in person so far I'm not going to be getting one. That's not the stance i had before seeing it. |

Wonder if the G6ET will get the rear bootlip spoiler and a different exhaust tip?
